Hot off Vai's twitter:


I've been disenfranchised from my alma mater. 2morrow, I'm back.


Interesting for two reasons: 1) Vai admits he's disenfranchised with BYU....no big surprise for anyone who reads his recent flow of tripe, and 2) evidently BYU has done something to win him back.



My best guesses: (a) BYU has made the move for a legacy-type OC to return to the 80s-90s offensive roots, or (b) BYU is whitewashing the athletic department in favor of an all-poly staff for all sports (can that still be called a "whitewash"????), or (c) Kaufusi is going to break the poly-bariier for BYU hoops?

My best guess: a Poly is being hired. That seems to be Vai's only requirement BYU should be looking for.

I don't know that Darrell Bevell would be a hire that would elicit this type of response from Vai, so my secret wish for a new OC is now slowly dying. :(

Must be adding Vai, himself, to the coaching staff -



Although, when Kaufusi came onto the court tonight the place went wild and when he score the place exploded - that probably warmed Vai's heart.

Sometimes it seems like he wants Bronco's head on a platter. If Bronco is leaving and Vai got wind of it - and posted this.

Or maybe Vai pissed of the Utes or vice versa and he needs his old friends.



Anyway - who knows what he is tweeting about, but it will tske him a long time to win back the love of some fans.



I post quite often about the value of legacy - when you have one, like Vai had - probably best not to risk burning it up.

He has put a black eye on the Poly nation, almost painting them as a victimized minority that ought to have hiring quotas. He's spent too much time in a city and county that voted 100% based on race. Who does he think he is, Ghandi? Does he think his passive protests and childish tweets and chatter have been the chief moving cause for this change? He's acting like his Alma Mater "disenfranchised" him, as in pushed him away. And now he can forgive them and come back.

We'll see. Maybe it is an old school offense OC and not related to his Poly advocacy.

Regardless, tweeting out ahead of the announcement that he knows something is small and isn't earning him the credit he thinks he has earned. He may as well be posting on Rumorboard or CC. I cant imagine Cecil O or TH or the BoT are impressed with this tweet at all. He just increased is disenfranchised distance. Shut it Vai!

Robert Anae even before the Vai Tweet



Hey - we need a good OL coach - but difficult to see either BYU or Robert Anae pursuing a reunion unless they have no other options. The rumor over there is Anae as OC.

Which detracts from his credibility. It should be whoever is the best hire. Who cares if it's a Poly? Vai needs to pull his head out of his yewt.

Didn't Lawboy say it ain't Ty? Said it will be someone else. News on Jan 7. Of course that was after previously saying it was Ty.

Jeff Call is also reporting that Mark Atuaia is being hired as the Running Backs coach, which would explain the traitor Vai's reconciliation with the program.

Now don't take this the wrong way. I have the same feelings about Vai as many of you. Having said that, if you read his tweet like a riddle it takes on a different meaning. For example, "I've been disenfranchised by my alma mater. 2morrow, I'm back." Who am I? The answer to the riddle is Robert Anae. That may have been what he was trying to get at, although maybe I'm just giving him too much credit.

Anae as OC / OL Coach and Atuaia as RB coach is what I am hearing - with Doman probable but not certain according to Jay Drew as QB Coach. Jeff Call indicated Doman will be QB coach in addition to the Anae and Atuaia stuff. Hearing that USU fans are claiming Weber is coming there.



This is all from TumorBoard via my son, and thus may be cancerous.



If all if this is true - maybe we can tap into that loaded Kahuku team.

I'm shocked that it only takes two or three Polynesians on the coaching staff to get Benedict Sikahema back; I thought it would have taken a Poly HC or the entire staff...BTW, who cares? Vai can support whoever he wants, does it really affect anything?
