Update - Andy Reid interviewed with the Kansas City Chiefs earlier today, then flew to Phoenix. He will tonight with the Cardinal's.



I'd take the Cardinal's any day over the Chief's.

Wowzi!! The meetings yesterday went so well with the Kansas City Chief's, Andy Reid's flight to Phoenix last night was cancelled. Reportedly, the Chief's and Reid are close, very close, to a deal. One Assistant, who will go wherever Reid goes, is telling friends they are going to Kansas City, not Phoenix.



However, Reid is flying to Phoenix today and will discuss being their new HC. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Phoenix).



Also, Reid has scheduled a meeting with the San Diego Chargers.

Wow. Does he feel there is a huge upside for rebuilding if he gets the number 1pick? Or is he satisfied just being an end of career coach rotting in one of the worst NFL franchises? Sorry to al KC fans. It doesn't help I grew up in Denver.

The announcement that Andy Reid will be the next Chief's HC will be coming. Too bad. IMHO, both the Cardinals and Chargers have much better teams.



Andy must be chasing the $$$. Figuring this is his last stop before retiring. Sadness. I was really pulling for Phoenix.

I agree with Cougs_Rule on this one. I can't see why the Chiefs would be an attractive coaching job, that franchise is a complete mess. I really wish Andy Reid would take some time off.

In 2011 Reid made $5.5 million with the Eagles. Ken Whisenhunt (just fired by the Cardinals) made $5.75 million.) So ........

Gotta agree. I think the expectations are less in Arizona and that the warm weather might do him good. But hey, it's his life, so good on him being super successful and being able to pick where he wants to go.

I guess lower expectations so if he can turn it around and make playoffs, success! But AZ and SD want more than that and seem to have higher expectations. Maybe that 1st pick had something to it as well. Or maybe more autonomy with player/personnel?

Insiders indicate that it is structure / autonomy which will also likely mean money as well given a role with more authority.



In other words KC will hand him the keys to the car and let him drive it. The other two would have closer - possibly micro - management potential.



He will go KC without even talking to the other two unless contract details break down. Maybe by tomorrow.

15 min. ago - Andy Reid is the new HC for the Kansas City Chiefs. His contract is being reviewed by attorneys today. It will be signed and the deal completed later today. The Chiefs have fired Gen. Mangr. Scott Pioli.
