BYU vs. VA Tech

This is a must win if the team is going dancing. I don't think we'll get there anyway, but we certainly can't drop this one. Hopefully V Tech is as bad as the experts are making them out to be so we have a chance.

Yeah, VT is pretty poor. We need to put our foot on their throats and get up 20 to put this one away real quick.

Did I say 25-30? If Rose gives him the minutes Haws is looking at 40 today.

If they are going to leave Haws open we don't need a second scorer. Though most WCC teams will have enough tape to know not to leave him open.

Only St. Mary's and Gonzaga matter and they will be able to contain both of them without too much thought. It's too bad. We just don't have the horses to do anything. I thought Carlino would be the one to step up but he has taken a big step back this year.

I think Austin should be the 3rd scoring threat. He has a good jumper and seems to be able to get it off at will ala Hartsock. Nobody else seems to be able to create a shot on the floor. If we want to open up another option I say we give Austin more iso's going forward. This could be a long-term fix, which we desperately need.

When did he take a step forward? He had one good scoring game and has started to play with more control. But late in this game he is showing that he quickly can go back into frantic mode and screw up. When he sticks with distributing to Haws and Davies he does better.

Zylstra's still choking = 1-5 today and 0-2 from 3-point. Only good for rebounds and assists anymore. Cusick floundering

Let's give Carlino a bit of credit. His assist to turnover ratio is way down. That's improvement. His shot is off this season, but he's settled down from the beginning if the season and is shooting much better. His garbage play comes late in games when we're already up. I like his pace and I like how he passes it down court.
