Bleacher Report pre-season 2013 predictions -



"Projected Regular Season Win Total: 9



BYU had the talent to win more than seven games in the regular season. The Cougars just didn't execute properly against some of their tougher opponents this year.



The centerpiece of the team this year was WR Cody Hoffman, who looked almost unstoppable, catching 90 passes, including 11 touchdown grabs. If Hoffman returns for his senior year, it will certainly help out freshman QB Taysom Hill, who saw six games of action before going down with a season-ending injury.



On defense, the team will have to replace freakishly athletic pass-rusher Ezekiel Ansah. But LB Kyle Van Noy, who had 11.5 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss in 2012, should be able to make up for that loss if he decides to return for his senior year."

BYU won eight game this year. If we get to eight wins next year, it will be one of the best coaching jobs by Bronco.

Haha. Spiff and bib already on here paving the way for bronco and byu excuses for losing next year. Just need schmoe and frdtr to make it complete.



Next years schedule looks just as winnable as this years or last year. Some better teams, maybe, but most are at home this year. Bronco and doman just sucked it up as game day coaches this year. We were a few adjustments, better player development or management, offensive play calling away from 0 or 1 loss season and most of their mistakes were common sense to most football fans with a rudimentary knowledge of the game and byu football.



Next year appears to have the same potential. Even if our defense is a notch worse, we should be able to improve the offense by 3 or 4 notches by hiring new oline coach and no more Riley and better play calling and a qb that is smarter and throws better. This can all be do be done in off season rather easily and Riley won't be here to torment us next year.



If hoff and van noy go nfl, the challenge will be harder. But with them staying, my bar for success next year is 9 and 3 minimum while being competitive in loses and beating Utah. If we don't beat Utah next year, that better be our only loss or I will squarely be on the fire bronco train.

Take another imaginary bubble bath with your imaginary wife with the imaginary shoes and ask her if she has cold feet about next season. She clearly knows more about football than you know.

What fullback will actually resemble Manase or Fui on the field

What two tight ends will resemble Harline, Pitta, or George

What 5 OL starters and 3 back-ups will be good enough to compete but were not good enough this year

Other than Hoff, what wide receiver will be a threat - and if Hoff leaves early, which two receivers

We gonna go with one RB and hope he stays healthy - otherwise, which back-up RB will step up to spell the starter

Who will replace Coach Reynolds

Who will replace any coaches that get fired



And yes - the D will drop a notch or two or three next year depending on KVN's decision.



Yeah - all simple fixes.



Maybe you should focus on putting a kit of warm clothes for your wife in your trunk in case you get another imaginary chance to attend a game.

Merry Christmas Bib! Enjoy your loneliness and internet bullying while I take not imaginary baths having some not so imaginary fun with my not so imaginary beautiful wife. But whatever makes you feel better ....



And thanks for proving my point. Lots of questions for next year although I think our schedule is no harder or more difficult than most schedules of the past decade. Lots of storied programs but all have just as many or more questions than we do, many with new coaches, many losing top performers, more big games at home, etc.



Good coaches find a way to reload, without too many rebuilding years. If next year is 7-5 or worse, especially with another lose to Utah, it will prove a trend, that Bronco is not a good HC (by football performance standards). He will have taken 4 very successful seasons with Crowton's recruits and coaches (even though I'd argue those teams still under-performed sue to coaches, especially Anae), and driven us straight to the land of mediocre obscurity in 4 straight years with his recruits and coaches.



4 straight years of rebuilding is unacceptable and is no longer called rebuilding. It is called a trend and it is called a mediocre program.



But I really hope Bronco can change the tide next year and give us a respectable win or two (or more), beat the Utes, dominate USU, have a respectable offense to match a dominant defense, and give us fans something to be excited for and proud of.

Did he not just say that the schedule next year - the one all objective experts already agree is the most difficult schedule ever - is just about like a typical BYU schedule. Reality Check.



Notice that right about the time U clearly fell off the edge of the Foorball world, he got bored and came back. He has no one to root for so he resumed his need for someone to root against. We will need to endure this nonsense until CU becomes firmly entrenched as the new U Rival.



News flash to AW - How many years of rebuilding has Texas had? Oklahoma? U? UW? USC for heaven's sake? UCLA is back to at least contending - after a 20 year rebuild. AZ, ASU? Colorado? WSU? Cal?



Anyway - when 7-6 followed by 10-3 and then 8-5 with three straight Bowl Wins is your low point - your coach is doing reasonably well.



Now how bout Kwhitt. How many losing seasons - LOSING - in PAC 12 can he endure? U will have a 3rd PAC losing season in a row. I guarantee it. Absolutely guarantee it. And I like the Utes. Utah will lose to Oregon, Stanford, USC, UCLA, and Michigan for sure. Then they will drop 2-3 more even if they beat BYU again. Losing PAC season 3. Losing season 2. Luckily, their basketball team that we just beat is improving. Football is a sinking ship.
