My Best Christmas Present

Is that Riley Nelson is now out of eligibility. I appreciate all he has done in terms of effort and hard work and time but I sure am glad i will never see him behind center again and that our coaches will never be able to put him in injured again.



Hopefully he gets healed up and gets into medical school.

Agreed. These last 3 seasons have left a major black mark on BYU football. I don't care what our record has been. We had our best defense ever and wasted it due to horrible QB play and, to a near equal extent, OL play. Time to turn a page, let Weber and Doman go, and move on to the Hill era of actual D1 QB play at a high level.

It's funny how polarizing RN was, and how hatred can make one blind to objectivity. I'm glad that RN is done as well, but not for the same reasons, I can objectively look back and see how he kept the losses close with his athleticism in spite of criminal o-line play. Who do we blame next year when our buzz saw schedule leads us to a similar if not worse record? Unless there are major improvements to the o-line, we will not be bowl eligible at the end of the regular season.

Riley's playing through injuries cost us games. He's a great kid with a ton of heart, but his ego was writing checks that his body couldn't cash, and unfortunately the coaching staff kept allowing him to do it. Lark beats SJSU, Utah and BSU. Specifically, against SJSU that last fumble was 50 % on the Oline for allowing that sack, but also 50% on Nelson, his ribs were so damaged that a simple hard hit jared the ball lose when a healthy QB holds on to that.

It won't get any better until Doman is gone. No QB has looked good against any team with a pulse under him.

What have you seen from Lark that proves to you that he could escape from the assault allowed by our o-line?



Lark would have been broken by Utah. Lark would have been broken by BSU, and a QB with as little experience as Lark does not dig out of the 20 point hole our D would have put him in at SJSU.
