Erratic QB Play = Suspect OL

Tonight showed just how poor the OL is against a quality D (front seven). They had trouble keeping the SDSU D out of the backfield, shut down the run attack, and put lots of pressure on Lark when making throws. One interception was an ill advised throw under pressure, and the other one a juggled Hoffman catch. However, it goes to show you that unless the OL improves next year and offers a modicum of pass protection/run blocking, we will see more of the same in terms of harried throws and incomplete passes. We need athletes that can dominate the line and a coach that can deliver consistency. Clearly a good portion of this year's QB problems were directly related to the inability of the OL to perform at the level needed for the offense to be effective. Even ESPN announcers could spot the problem, 3 seconds into the first BYU series.

the announcers were all over our Oline all night and they were right. Our oline couldn't run block or pass block all night. Lark did extremely well under those circumstances and I think that we need to give Riley more credit for his play under those circumstances too.

Riley Nelson - pounding and beating - injured - several times

Taysom Hill - pounding and beating - injured in 2nd start or so

Michael Alisa - pounding and beating - injured early in season

James Lark - looked scared tonight



Going back



Jake Heaps - injured ribs - playing scared

Riley Nelson - injured

JJ, and other RBs - underachieved



It has been a problem since 2010.



BYU will not have a defense that can carry the offense most years.



Bronco acknowledged that BYU became more aggressive - to create turnovers - 4th qtr



BAM



Might have won some games if done Vs U, BSU, ND, and SJSU. This defense was great, but did not create turnovers early in the season.













Better protection - fewer injuries - better results
