Craziest realignment story I've seen-Gonzaga to Big East?

So I guess the feelings of "loyalty" to the WCC stop now, right? Do what is best for BYU concerning non-football alignment and stop worrying about if the WCC will have hurt feelings--since it sounds like if they get their way Gonzaga is gone. Leaving BYU, St. Mary's and a bunch of low performing schools.....

They would likely only want to join the basketball only schools if they end up splitting from the teams that "sort of" play football.

Believe nothing.

This is totally laughable unless they can create a west division. Happy cross country jet setting. This will die soon. But this will create no small stir among fellow WCC folks.

Gonzaga is to basketball what Boise State is to football. Has a bit of a Cinderella Cult Following. They want to flex their muscles - since everyone else is trying to do so.

Sure - but a couple of those dinky arenas sure would stand out. It would be great for BYU other than likely not being very competitive.

Reminds me of a joke. A Priest at Notre Dame was taking confession and he would mark with chalk on his sleeve every sin to know how much penitence to give. A young man comes into the booth and says “forgive me father for I have sinned”. The priest asked him what he had done and he says, “I was playing basketball and every time the opposing player would try to go up for a rebound I’d step on his foot so he couldn’t jump.” The priest says such poor sportsmanship and marks on his sleeve.
