BYU fans will be very happy with Sam Lee (6-0, 180, 4.4 40) and Robertson Daniels (6-2, 205 and 4.5 40). The loss of Trenton Trammel hurts BYU, but assuming he's back in 2014, BYU should have a really great backfield at that time. Without question, BYU should be great this year as well with Hadley, Sorensen and Bills already slated in. Lee was all League as a sophomore while Daniels was an All American.
One of these two players will probably land the vacant Boundary Corner position, but Robertson is such an all around athlete, he could play the nickel, boundary and free safety or Kat slots with ease. If you watched his highlight reel, he's also a really good receiver and has hands so it might be hard to keep him off the field in a variety of positions. Sam Lee was also a wide receiver throughout much of his career and so he might be a more natural sidekick to J.D. Faslev on returns no matter what. Everyone worried about BYU's BC position should take a deep breath and step back from the Mike Hague is all we have here sign next to the cliff. BYU also recruited a host of other players who look like they can fill in at a number of safety and CB positions.
The defensive backfield should be a strength with depth this year. BYU fans will be very pleased when they see the quality of these athletes.
