Bronco and Doman are out recruiting together right now.

They are on the road together right now in Oregon, making home visits. Together. Coach Weber is not with them, and they are visiting Kearsley.



I think it is safe to say that both will be back next season. Not so much for Coach Weber, who is rumored to be retiring.

I believe they are out there trying to convince top offensive linemen to still come to BYU even though Weber will be gone.



For good or for ill, the kids absolutely love Weber.

Hopefully, they have hte new coach lined up and can talk about him today.



Pesonally, hoping for Kirk Chambers.

Provo High School grad. Played at Stanford, then in the NFL for many years. Big dude and Still young, so can get in their ans how players how to do it. Just coached Spanish Fork High School to the 3A champ game in football for their first time ever in 95 years.

Sounds like a good pedigree for an O-Line coach. I assume he hasn't been coaching at Spanish Fork for too long?

Look him up on Wikipedia. Great guy. Great resume. Could see him starting as OL coach and stepping rather quickly into OC role and eventually HC role.

John Tait is not interested in leaving Cali last I heard. Not a BYU/Bronco thing--he's just enjoying the quiet life a bit and dabbling in making documentaries when he has too much time.

Who do you fire to make room for Detmer? There are limits on NCAA coaches, so for every addition, you're going to need a subtraction.

Lance Reynolds and Mark Weber retire...enter Detmer and Chambers. Between Detmer, Chambers, Cahoon, and Doman, the tight ends will be fine.

Could it be that inquiries were made to Bronco to guage interest, Bronco entertained them to be courtious? When the media blew it all out of purportion, Bronco went out recruting to let our recruits know that he isn't going anywhere? Just a thought.

How many of you calling for Kirk to be the next coach added to the staff had heard of him before this thread?



I'm sure he's great, but it's funny how our fanbase thinks that everyone LD,S played in the NFL and who is NOT at BYU can come in and "save" the program.
