Watching D.Harrison play for Clemson right now. He looks good. Plays great D, which we could have used this year, and hitting jumpers. Sad we lost this kid.

Wasn't roses fault Harrison's mission got delayed. I don't know what he could have different. But since you do, let's hear your ideas!

It's a shame his mission got delayed and it's a shame the doctors didn't figure out a little earlier that Collinsworth and Rogers were done.

No one's to blame though.

what I've not come to understand is how he was able to transfer and play this season after playing last season for BYU. Someone remind me how he got around that requirement.

He applied to the NCAA for a waiver, which BYU supported him getting, and it was granted to him.

so the only thing that kept Carlino from starting the season on 2011-12 was that he didn't apply for a waiver, or he did and UCLA didn't support it?

I'm glad they have that ability because it is right to me if a young man has a reason to want to transfer to not have to wait if his former team accepts his reason. That seems to a be a high road that few schools travel.

I think there were circumstances for Harrison that Carlino didn't have. Carlino wasn't a returning player to UCLA who was on scholarship and essentially didn't have one available to him the following through no fault of his own.

I think with the mission delay it made sense for the NCAA to help Harrison.

Any time the NCAA can help athletes get away from BYU and the pressures to go on a mission, you better believe they will do so.

The real tragedy is that the two scholarship players didn't leave early enough to keep Harrison. It was too late to pull a scholarship from one of the other players who had one (not technically too late, but later than most coaches will pull one). Harrison and Haws on the wings would be really good, and Harrison's defense would have helped immensely.

Oh, and Harrison's brother just got home from his mission today.
