Jabari Parker's comment about the coaches he's met in being recruited:



"Parker said each visit hasn't exactly separated one school from another.



"It's made it a little bit more confusing because you fall in love once you get on campus," Parker said. "You get a lot of love and praise from the coaches, and they don't really tell you anything. It's important for me to tell who is telling the truth and not."



I'd be surprised if Dave Rose blew any smoke up his backside and didn't tell it like it was. Interesting critique because it has been the opposite with Bronco that everyone comes away from meeting with him and remarking how refreshing it was that Bronco wasn't like the other coaches that always seemed to say what they wanted to hear.



Makes me wonder what he is really looking for. He's mentioned a few items, but did he not see those being met at BYU? He sounds like he's more confused than before.

In Rose's case what he probably is telling Jabari is true.



Assuming that Rose is telling Jabari the same things the other coaches are - come here and we'll contend for a championship, we got a great team, you could contribute right away, have a system you'll excel in, etc.



At BYU, that may all be true. At Duke and the other elite schools Jabari is looking at all that may not be true. Another player at Duke could excel past Jabari, eat into Jabari's minutes. Coach K may not actually find Jabari starter material his freshman year, etc.



What Rose can offer the other schools can't, though, is an environment where Jabari will be around those that share the same beliefs as him. Coming from non-LDS community this can be polarizing as well as inviting, but if framed the right way it should be a selling point that Rose highlight. Jabari won't have to worry about saying "no" to the party invite from his fellow teammates. His religious values won't be a polarizing issue on the team. He won't be asked wherever he goes to explain his religion. In essence, Jabari can be among peers, relax and enjoy his college experience much more at BYU than other schools.

I'm curious if many of the fans of the other four prosepective schools are even making much of a note of what Parker is doing or saying.

Not like BYU. Duke, Michigan, etc. they get these types of players all the time.

Duke wasn't as over-the-top as BYU was, but they still made signs, chants etc.
