Bronco to CU?

No way Bronco takes the job.

No way he takes that over a UCLA job he turned down last year. I live in Denver, and the atmosphere surrounding the CU athletic program is absolutely toxic. The AD there is a total joke. NO self-respecting person would take that gig.

Someone told me in all seriousness just two days ago that every team in the country is laughing at Bronco and BYU because he's the worst coach in the country and once he's fired he'll never work again.

KWhitt's stock has dropped - substantially. His name was once one of the first to come up when there were coaching vacancies. I have not seen his name come up lately.



Bronco's stock is fine. I don't think any elite programs are going to come calling - but programs like CU, KU, Tenn, etc., would still be interested if Bronco showed any interest in leaving.

I think Bronco finishes his college head coaching tenure at BYU. I'm afraid that this might be sooner rather than later, but I'm almost positive it will be on his terms.

I am not so sure about that anymore. Bronco has bills to pay just like the rest of us. Guy has to work. BYU does not pay BCS level $$$, so he can;t just walk off into retirement at age 47 so easily. That is many years to be retired, and football coaching is all he knows. I do not se him getting a desk job, so it is gonna be football.



With that in mind, imagine CU offering BRonco $2.5-3Mper for 4 years. That is $10-12M for 4 years. IT would take him 8-9 years to get that money at BYU. So if BRonco wants to retire young, but with a solid nest egg, no better way than to take that 4-year gig at CU, take hte $$$ then see what happens.



I for one would not blame him for it at all. I'd love to double my pay for the same job.

I wasn't saying he would retire, just that he might not want the attention (see: wrath) of fans as the HC again. It wouldn't surprise me if he went somewhere as a DC only after being harangued by fans for so long. I agree with what you said in the other thread: he's probably feeling a little under-appreciated after righting the sad ship that was BYU football under Gary Crowton.
