Even though Manti's getting some #1 draft pick chatter

I finally now believe Bronco was correct that he wouldn't have started at BYU his first year unless there were a number of injuries ahead of him (see Lark & Iggy). I'm sorry Bronco for doubting you.

I am trying to be a kind, understanding person with Manti. Regardless of his success, and example that he sets, I still think he made a mistake by choosing Notre Dame.



And - the 1 game this season that I really wanted to win this year - more than beating the UofU - was Notre Dame. Arrrgh! :sulk:

So in your opinion, guys should be promised a starting job before the get to BYU? So what happens if/when they get here and aren't as good at the position as guys who are already here? Manti is a good player but BYU was loaded at his position when they were recruiting him. he may or may not have been able to beat out guys already here, we will never know because he chose to go somewhere else.

Perhaps he made the best decision. He chose a school that gave him a fair shot at earning the starting spot. I wonder how much of a difference he would have made for us. The one that we lost that has made a huge difference is the X man,Xavier Su'a Filo, at UCLA OL.

I think the issue is that a lot of us have lost confidence in Bronco's ability or willingness to play the best players.

Bronco plays the guys that put 100% effort into every play during practice and the games. Frankly, i'm fine with that. If Manti would have come to BYU and shown that effort, he would have seen the field very soon.

I have no doubt Manti would have seen extensive playing time every he would have attended and played for BYU.
