Ben Cahoon's impact

I think it would be nice to talk about a coach and position group that actually has been playing very well.



The article highlights two statistics that Cahoon uses to evaluate WRs, catches per drop and drop percentage.



The consistent improvement each year since 2010 is impressive. Anyone remember the absolutely RIDICULOUS amount of easy drops our WR corp had in 2010? I know, we've all tried to forget :gross:

Yeah, but our QBs have sucked... so Cahoon sucks too! Chow gets credit for developing Steve Young, Robbie Bosco and company when he was a receivers coach at BYU, so our receivers coaches must be responsible for developing our QBs, and Cahoon has NOT been carrying the load like Chow did....

I had nearly forgotten about all those drops from a few years ago. They were all over the place. Nice to see that problem addressed and it's a non-issue now. Yes, there's always improvement where a receivers coach can step up and help with the QBs, but so far so good with our receivers since his hire, and that needs to be the focus.

Other than Hoffman and occasional bursts from Falslev, do we have any receivers.



Apo sure continues to be pedestrian.

Cody has 33% of the team's receptions. Falslev is most likely has the next highest percentage of catches. Key point, with Lark's one great day, he completed more passes to a variety of receivers than we had seen since M. Hall.

Ridley has his games. I wonder if it's due to playing time that he doesn't shine more in others.

Ridley has been impressive in the little time he's had on the field. Still not sure what's going on with Apo, but he has another 2 years to figure it out.
