Duck Hunting?

Having recently moved back to Utah County, anyone know of some decent late season spots for duck hunting in/around Utah County?

Sno - it's funny you should post this. I have a brother that lives in Provo and he's an attorney. He goes duck hunting every year. He has told ( we were just talking about it yesterday) me he always goes with clients and business associates that invite him to go. He said these guys all belong to duck hunting clubs up around Salt Lake City. I guess they can be pretty expensive.



Anyway, I know this isn't helpful. But, he told me, it's all about connections and having friends that belong to these exclusive clubs up past SLC. He never goes duck hunting around Utah Lake.

Our company has a duck club membership up north of Brigham City, but with our recent move and the holidays I don't have many (any?) days with 10 hours free just to get 3 hours in the marsh. I am just looking for something half-decent nearby where I can spend more time on trigger and less time on the stick-shift.

Ahhh - you're lucky to have that connection. You're right, traveling up to the Salt Lake marshes, setting up the decoys, hunting, packing up & getting back home is a long and full day. Duck hunting becomes a passionate religion. It's a great sport - great to be with friends and buddies.



Sorry. As usual, I am of no help. It sounds like you are pretty hooked up - just pressed for time. You're an important guy.

Not a duck hunter myself. I prefer shooting clays.

Now that's interesting - a clays guy eh? I've been a boomstick guy for about 12 years now. Mostly I shoot Skeet. I've tried Trap a couple times - did not like it (Trap is crap - LOL!). I've shot Sporting Clays 5 or 6 times and really liked it. I could really get into Sporting Clays.



I'm an Upland bird guy. I go dove hunting Sept. 1st on the Colorado River, go pheasant hunting every other year in S. Dakota, quail hunting here in So. Calif - but it's crappy.



I've never tried duck. My brother (he lives in Provo) really enjoys the wetland bird hunting. I gotta try it some time. All my friends that duck hunt love it. But, they all tell me, it's about the clothes. Ya gotta stay dry and warm or it's miserable.
