So the optimist in me says,

-considering KVN and Hoff are back;

- our Oline will be better, could they get much worse? Anae will have them ready;

- Bronco will have his D ready, at least top 20, to be safe;

-assuming THill will be back to full strength and will be at least PER effective as RN;

-better scheme and play calling;

-opponents all beatable--ND down on D; Wisconsin reorganizing; Texas, U, BSU at home; USU will be down a bit, I think;

Overall, appealing opponents, alot of the hard games at home; I'm not sure how much harder this next season is.

If 2012 was one of the hardest In BYU history and an 8.5 on a scale of 1 to 10' what would next year be? As I look at it, seems about the same. Keeping in mind that U and BSU in five days and both on the road made both games tougher than in 2013.

Just my optimistic thoughts. I'm actually looking forward to next year. Though my Expectations for spring are very much in check.

It is exciting that the season ticket holder will finally get a tremendous slate of home games.

What is weird is all the wholes in the schedule. Right now there are 4 open weekends, if we only end up playing 12 games there would be 3 bye weeks???

2013 is an 8.6 if 2012 was 8.5. As mentioned, 2013 is easier in that Utah and Boise State are at home, along with Georgia Tech. Plus, no back-to-back road games. None. Our longest road trip (Virginia) is the first game of the season. Bye week before Wisconsin. Notre Dame will not be better than they were in 2012 - they lose Te'o, Riddick, and Eiffert.

The extra difficulty because we get AT Virginia instead of Washing State (similar difficulty, just on the road), AT Hawaii and USU instead of home, and MTSU and at Houston to replace Idaho and at NMSU. Bottom half of the schedule is a notch harder than '12. Top half is slightly easier because of home games.

The optimist in you ought to hold back on the OL predictions. We've been hearing about an improved "how can it be worse" OL for 3 seasons now. Yes, it can be worse. I like the idea of Anae coming in and supposedly focusing on protecting the QB, but what if we just don't have the horses?
