BYU's offensive stats

Per the Greg Wrubell tweet:



"BYU offense: 61st in rush yds, 72nd in scoring, 65th in total yards, 60th in pass yds, 92nd in pass efficiency, 92nd in sacks allowed. "



92nd in sacks allowed. There is the lions share of our problems right there. Our oline isn't good enough to make the rest of the offense work. We need that fixed.

If the offensive coordinator called more 3-step throws or the QB released the ball quicker, BYU's sack stat would be much better. The blame lies on all three--OL, QB, and OC. Riley makes slow progressions and has a molasses-like release.

Riley does hold onto the ball too long sometimes but there are a lot of times were guys are in his face just about the time the snap arives in his hand too. Our offensive line this year has been the worst I can remember since before Grimes got here, and the line he inherited was a patchwork of players moved from other positions. This one has some guys that were pretty highly recruited that are underperforming.
