BYU (6-5)



Both will likely win their next game.

Utah will not be Bowl Eligible

BYU will lose their bowl game unless the D plays 4 quarters of inspired football.

OK, all joking aside I think we are slightly better than them as a team in everything but what matters-the scoreboard.

Agreed. That's why I voted for Utah being worse.

They beat us and did so soundly. Based on talent and reasonable expectation we are the worse team.

Byu is better than Utah if both teams played their best. Byu actually playing utah means Byu plays their worst. It's been awhile since we have seen Byu play at the level they can/should vs Utah....... It's almost like USU playing BYU. Its a mental thing. Utah is more mentally tuff/ready vs Byu.

Bowl games trumps a losing season every time in my book.

Only a fool would claim a non bowl team matches a bowl bound team.

The scoreboard is the only fair way to judge who is better in my book. Utah beat BYU this year. That makes them the better team this year. Doesn't feel good to admit that, but arguing any other way clouds the truth.

Sorry pollsters don't agree with that logic - they look at season record and SOS as a whole. One game does not a season make unless you succumb to Yewt thinking.

Yes, my logic is admittedly ridiculous, especially when you throw out examples like UTEP. We can analyze this until the cows come home and still end up back at square one. However, I don't own a cow. While I like the simplicity of my logic on this issue, I don't feel passionate about it enough to fight for it. I will concede the argument to the person who makes the best case with passionate flare.
