Norm Chow clinically insane

It was tweeted today that Jordana Wynn will be the new QB coach at Hawaii.

I'll be honest, when I saw the thread title, I thought this was going to be something goofy. But there's no other way to describe it than certifiably insane.

I don't know, who better to pick when you want to teach toughness and grit. He did say that Jordan was the best QB he had coached since Ty Detmer too. :whistle: :bug: :blush: :sick: :P

Perhaps Norm Chow needs a hobby and has extra time on his hands. So, now he has a project. Teaching Wynn how to be a coach. Good luck.

I don't think his hiring Wynn makes any BYU fan nuts. It's a bad football player, coaching straight out of college with no experience on a terrible team.



I think it just makes most BYU fans snicker.

But you forget the real bonus - L&L B-B-Q plate food everywhere. :D

While it's easy to make fun of the move, it's not much different than Utah hiring Brian Johnson. BYU's hiring of Brandon Doman is only slightly better because he actually was in the NFL for a few months.



Wynn basically has 2 years of quasi experience. In his redshirt year he sat in the box with Chow the whole season. This year he basically worked with the QB's all season. From what everyone says about Wynn, he has a high football IQ. While he is lacking in durability and toughness that really doesn't matter when you are coaching.



I think the only options for him being hired by an FBS school this soon as a coach was either at the U or from Hawaii since he was coached by Chow. Otherwise he probably would be coaching at a FCS or JC for a few years and then we would have seen him at an FBS school.



As other people pointed out, what other options does Hawaii have? Chow is going to micromanage the QB's anyway so it doesn't really matter if they even had a coach.

You guys are too hard on Wynn. He was a very good QB who couldn't stay healthy. I don't know how he will be as a coach but good for him for getting his degree, a job right out of school, and some decent honors while his career lasted.

The guy just can't control himself.
