SpiffCougHere are my statistical and non-statistical observations in addition to the RER for the Idaho game. Season RERs are in parentheses.

- Apo and Hoffman are on a three game streak of a RER above 135.
- BYU's 3rd down PER was 163.29, also the third straight game. For the year, the PER is 117.52 on 3rd down, but that number is really dampened by the Utah and Boise games. Without those two, it's a respectable 139.96. Further proof that the QB in those games shouldn't have been playing.
- BYU has been very good in the blue zone. The PER was 165.89 and 165.49 on the year. BYU has 14 TDs to 1 INT in the blue zone.
- Idaho ran no offensive plays in the blue zone. Their only play was the FG at the end of the game.
- Idaho had a 28.95 PER on 3rd down. On the year, BYU's 3rd down Defensive PER is 66.08.
- 69% of Bronco's 100 games have been decided by 10 or more points, with BYU winning 52 of them.
- BYU lost a fumble for the first time in six games.
- Georgia Tech and Idaho combined to go 2 of 22 on third down.
- BYU has given up ONE conversion on 3rd & 7 or more in the last four games (23 attempts).
- The five attempts on fourth down were a high under Bronco.
- Every time Riley plays well/efficiently it is disappointing to me from the stand point that it was so clear that he should NOT have been playing in the Utah or Boise games because he wasn't physically able of making the plays the team needed him to make.
- Riley was slightly above average against Idaho. His PER was 157.2. On the year, Idaho's defensive PER was 148.6.
- BYU gave up 0 sacks, but have given up 2.3 per game this year. The most since giving up 3.4 in 2004.
- The defensive pressure is beginning to lag. After sacking opposing QBs 20 times in the first six games, they have just four in the last four (and two in the last three).
