QB Pressure

Admittedly, I missed the first quarter entirely and part of the 2nd while out to dinner, could not turn on the announcers for the rest of the game that I did sort if see, had distractions and pressure not to even pay attention to the game - wife's birthday dinner out - then partying at my non FB fan daughter's place -

But anyway, it seemed that The Lowly Spuds were getting a lot of pressure on Nelson and later, Lark. Nelson was throwing under pressure after scrambling around or stepping up to avoid sacks and even had to take off running a few times to pick up a key first down.

This concerns me given that SJSU and SDSU may actually score a few points on us, and I fear that we have not seen the last QB injury for the season.

I thought our weak OL could hold their own vs Spuds, etc. And now our defense can't shut the Spuds out even in the first quarter, and our kicker is still weak. The muffed punt return was a scrub in garbage time, so I am not worried about that - but a defense with a goal to be #1 should have shut out The Potatoes.

I got the feeling the Idaho offensive line was very good, but their skill people are not. They did not give up a sack to LSU this year.

As for our own Oline, yes, they were not good, Nelson had pressure on every throw, the line leaked like a sieve. This better get fixed by next Saturday, SJSU is no Idaho.

I also observed that Nelson was pretty good throwing from the pocket, but when he scrambled, his throws were off, short, low, high--all over the place. And he does not have the arm strength to huck it downfield.

I was as surprised as the announcers that the D gave up a TD to Idaho. The announcers even put up a graphic that showed the offensive genius coaches that we didn't allow a TD to, and this interim coach that just did.

I was also surprised by the pressure (a lot of blitzes). I thought the first team did fairly well, but that the reserves were porous.
