A BYU win/Ute loss is always nice. (Even if our win did comes against Idaho). I'll laugh my yewt off if they aren't bowl eligible at the end of the year.

Even if they make it, PAC will have too many eligible teams and Utes could still stay home unless a non-PAC bowl picks them up.

The Utes now have to get wins in their final 2 games to be bowl eligible:

Arizona - Back on 10/20 they beat Washington 52-17

Colorado - Only team they've beat is Washington State--but they weren't supposed to beat the Utes last year either.



I'm predicting a loss to Arizona and a win against Colorado and they are all watching TV come bowl season.

I've been casually watching this little story line develop over the last 4-5 weeks, and I've loved every bit of it. They will lose to Arizona. They will not go to a bowl. Enjoy your Pac-12 irrelevance!

Utah is a different team at home than on the road, so they fit in perfectly to the PAC. UW is exactly the same. So is ASU and Arizona. Great home teams with big wins, awful road teams with bad losses.



I think Utah wins at home vs. UA then at Colorado.



6-6, and the talk is what a great finish they had again.



But we all know that they are average, and yet we still lost to them.

Who cares? They own us. My guess is most of their fans would trade a victory over us vs a bowl game against Mexico Tech in the Poinsettia Bowl that nobody will watch.

Yep, which is why they're still little brother -- they still have the little brother mentality.

Right, which is why they beat us every year. In the real world, the "little brother" mentality starts to fade after multiple BCS appearances, a #1 overall draft pick, more NFL players, invites to BCS conferences, and constant dismantling of your "big brother."



But it's good we're concerned about them struggling to make a bowl game this year.

My son who attends the U ( :sick: I know, I know, where did I go wrong!!!) does a sports talk show for their campus radio station. He tells me there is a growing sentiment on campus to can KWhitt. I don't know about that though. I see them as having the same problems we have. They have a young ineffective OC, sucky QB's and a kicking game that's the pitts.

I can see why Ute fans thinks this. They thought they'd win the PAC in years 1 and 2, and yet, here we are.



It is tougher being in a power conference simply because road win are harder to come by. You can win at home, but the raod is tough. BYU is seeing this in 2012, and will in the future as well with our scheduling. That is why you have to take care of business at home.

A few things that are true:



1. Utah will beat AZ this weekend. Utah plays well at home when their backs are against the wall. AZ is not the same team as a few weeks ago.

2. They will beat Colorado next week. They will go bowling and will squeak out a win in their bowl game. Just like last year.

3. I said before the season started that they would have a losing record in the Pac-12 before the season. That will not change anytime soon.

4. Being in a conference means that everyone is gunning for them now. They will not be looked past them like they have been, before they joined the Pac-12. It's a whole new ball game.

5. Utah will have a losing record in the Pac-12 next year too. They get rid of Cal and Wazzu and play Oregon and Stanford.

6. Utah is not a good team this year. I am a huge Washington fan (2nd to BYU of course) and WA isn't that good this year either.

7. We lost to Utah and that will continue as long as Bronco continues to do the same things.

Oh brother, we're enjoying the fact that our rival is doing poorly, we must be a pathetic fan base, right? :roll:



I like it when posters admit that they know little to nothing about football and then spout off about things like they are in the know. Yes, we've lost to the Utes, but I don't think a single member of our fanbase would realistically take a win over them and a seven-loss season over the season we're having this year.



And really, invite to a BCS conference? Because they bring in so much more revenue, fans, tv money, etc. than we do, right? Oh no, that's not it. Because of their prestige because of BCS wins? Oh no, but then why did Colorado get an invite. Because of their willingness to leave any semblance of being a "Mormon School" behind? Bingo.
