I know that the PER won't back up the statement for tonight, but man Riley is off. He is just throwing in the general vicinity of our receivers. Fortunately that is enough for tonight. He should have a couple picks already.

Riley ismore lucky than good tonight. Sure Hoffman dropped a td, but he also stole a pick in the endzone thrown right at a defender on a leaping catch.



Riley is not good, even tonight he is average. I want to see what Lark can do.

So "almost pics" that go for TD's should count against the QB that threw the td. yeah, that makes sense. Oh and by the way, it wasn't even close, the defender had no chance at it. Only Hoff, it was a well thrown ball.

RN looked really good in the first quarter and a half, but who cares, it's against Idaho. A two day dead monkey should look good against Idaho.



Not much in our offense looked good for the last 2 and a half quarters, which was a little disappointing. In fact, while I was at the game I was thinking about the topic I would start when I got home if we didn't break the 50 point barrier, it was titled 'Most disappointing blowout ever'

Riley finished 19/31, 236 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT for a PER of 157. In a game against one of the worst defenses in FBS, he's managed to match John Walsh's 1993 season average. Oh to have a QB with a season average PER over 150...



Riley's sitting at 122 on the season right now, so if he were to average 21/35, 275 yds, 3 TD, 1 INT per game (including the bowl game), he will have pulled himself up to the infamous "Covey Line" (Covey's PER in about two seasons starting = 130).

I watched the Alabama vs Texas A&M game yesterday and believe me I'm no fan of either team. I was really impressed with the A&M QB and their scheme. The announcers even compared their redshirt QB Manzial to Detmer for his ability to scramble around in the backfield and still make the play happen. I've thought for a while that we should be running that kind of offense. There was talk of no huddle this year but I haven't seen much of it. A&M is doing it with a redshirt freshman which could account for their 2 losses or perhaps it's because it's hard to maintain that level of play when playing the Florida's, LSU's and Alabama's of the football world. I just would love to see a BYU offense that is innovative and difficult to defend as our Defense is on the other side. I think Hill could do that if he comes back healthy, just don't know if we have a coach that can.

Those teams look better than BYU in pretty much every aspect. Slightly better on defense and way better across the board on offense and special teams play.

Exactly.



Eat it, you number crunchers. He was average, with a couple dropped INTs, (which I get it don't count) and he got the benefit of some very, very good catches. Lark had the best throw of the night, when he rolled out and hit the receiver on a frozen rope while on the run. I wonder what our season would be if we had that to work with for an entire season or two?

I just want a qb at BYU that can make more than half the throws expected of him to make. Anyone saying that was a good effort by a senior qb at byu against one of the worst defenses in college football is smoking something, and I'd like some. It will make the pain of a bowl loss to sdsu go away.
