CougarbibFirst and foremost - KVN is a beast. He and Ziggy and Hoff are the three most exciting players on this team. Probably gonna get a shot in the NFL.

Much has been posted complaining about favoritism by coaches letting older players start when KVN should have started from week 1 his freshman year. You know - the mediocre, un talented senior keeping the uber-talented stud on the bench.
KVN was quoted this week as saying he was miffed as the 2010 season was progressing and he was not starting. Then he got to start and said - WOW - I wasn't as ready as I thought I was. KVN gets it now. From his own mouth.
Coaches were quoted as saying KVN came in over-confident and not as coachable as he needed to be. Much improved coachability now - but still has much to learn.
This on the heels of the other recent quote from KVN that he played injured during part of the TCU loss last season and through the end of the season without telling the coaches.
The point of this post is that you could insert any highly recruited athlete in this story and usually get the same result. Even with the ones that turn out - they take time to get ready enough to play at all vs good opposition - and improve from there. Maybe the coaches are not idiots. They worked KVN from - being off the team before he was on the team to The Team Leader on defense. Ziggy - amazing coaching success story.
