Musings . . . .

Lemme see if I have this right:

The Big 12 has 10 teams

The Big 10 has 12 teams

The Atlantic Coast conference will have a team from western Pennsylvania in it

The Big East will have a team that looks out upon the Pacific Ocean in it

Independents are very dependent on conference teams to fill out their schedules

The Mid-America Conference has Massachusetts in it

The Mountain West has a team from Hawaii in it

The Pacific Athletic Conference has a team from the east side of the Rockies in it

The Southeast Conference has teams from Texas and Missouri in it

The Western Athletic conference has a team from Louisiana in it



. . . and we wonder why these geniuses can't find a decent way to crown a national champion.

I agree with all of your "musings", but Pennsylvania is connected not far upriver fromthe actual coast. I had a whole slew of ancestors in the 1700's that came to America by boat landing at the "port" of Philadelphia (a short run up the Delaware River from Delaware Bay). I think that qualifies them sufficiently for "Atlantic Coast" membership

Yeah, in the 13 colonies you had the northeast colonies of MA, CT and RI. The mid-Atlantic colonies of NY, NJ, PA, DE and MD. and the southern ones of VA, NC, SC and GA.

Yet PIttsburgh is 300 miles west of Philadelphia and that far removed from the Atlantic coast. Anyhow, cut a guy some slack! I was just trying to make this thing work out.

I don't disagree with your point, but all things considered, BYU's schedule is looking very good for the next couple of years. Actually, it's looking much better than I thought it would. I'm sure it's making things difficult, but TH seems to be up to the task.

Hawaii has mountains, and to get to Hawaii, you fly west from California right? How is that a problem?
