Suspended: Sampson and Stout

Suspended for violating team rules, Joe Sampson and Zac Stout have withdrawn from BYU.

Which means it likely wasn't the first time.



I'm glad their gone. Now these untalented upperclassmen can get out of the way of our more talented underclassmen! ;)

The rumor this morning was that it had also involved Jordan Johnson too, and additionally added that Alani Fua had quit the team.



"Sampson was the other one he mentioned. Just to clarify it was not a fight Between them, they were involved in a fight at some restaurant. Apparently some lady got punched, according to his post."



I waited all day to hear if it was true. I don't know if we'll hear more, but they were on the money with some of the story.

Suspended for fighting? What ever happened to, "Boys will be boys?"



And some lady got punched? If she was just a bystander, and not involved, that's bad. But if she somehow tried to be involved, I don't feel sorry for her.

Any man that punches a woman has no place at BYU. I don't know if that's true or not but there is no excuse for that.

Know both players personally and exactly what happened of the incident. Won't talk about it on here, but if anyone wants EXACT details message me. I see these guys every day.

That would suck if Alain Fua was gone though

I don't like seeing any BYU guys get into trouble. I don't know anything about the incident. But, this is where a big dose of "self control" comes into play. You turn, and walk away - mad as hell, but you walk away.



I'm sorry to see them go under these circumstances.

Good! Even more players getting out of the way of our talented youngsters!

Do you believe this woman had a knife and was threatening people/players and they stuck up for themselves and were then suspended? I don't.



I agree with Hawkwing.....no need for these type of guys at BYU if this story is accurate. I don't know the true story so I won't assume.

This is getting out of hand. We have NO IDEA at all what even happened.



It's a shame that they broke team rules and decided to leave school. If it were almost any other school, they might not even get a slap on the wrist. Let's leave it at that.

What about who is going to get juked out twice on the critical scoring drive against a Top Ten team on the road?



And who is going to return kicks out of the end zone to the 15 yard line when a touchback gets you to the 25.

In all seriousness, I hate to see this happen to BYU players, but I am happy to see BYU stick to their values. And it isn't that I dislike Sampson, I just never bought the hype about him.

Sampsons been a ticking time bomb since he showed up. I was at the 2011 fall scrimage and he would have been called for personal fouls in that game had there been real refs. And that was against his own teamates.

I heard the fight started with Sampson got insulted regarding the ND game. You have to keep under control. It might had been a Ute fan.

Yes. She was on drugs trying to eat people.

Unfortunate. I hope we have enough depth at CB to get us through the bowl game - no impact to next year, because Sampson was a sr.



Stout is a different story. No impact to this season because he was not seeing any PT to speak of. Was probably about to see some in mop up - affects depth next year - assuming he is good enough to play next year.



And the rumors about Fua quitting and another DB possibly having problems - that would impact next year. But those seem to just be rumors - hopefully.
