You really see Bronco letting this happen?? Has he practiced with the team at all?? Dude would be a BEAST of a PF - how much weight would he have to lose to be able to play B-Ball?? He sounds like he'd take the opportunity if it presented itself

Fat chance Bronco lets this happen

From the article:

"Kaufusi quickly pointed out that everything is still in the "discussion" stage, and that he won’t do both sports without the blessing of BYU football coach Bronco Mendenhall.

Asked about it Monday, Mendenhall did not seem to be as excited about the prospects as Kaufusi.

"It is really hard to be good at just one sport, let alone two. So I would say that just as a blanket statement," Mendenhall said. "Very few guys are capable of playing two. So it is really premature to even consider it or talk about it. Maybe after the bowl game we can consider that.""

Lets say Bronson is allowed to play......how long do you guys think it will be before he's ready to contribute?

He could contribute right away if all Rose wanted him to do was go in there, commit some fouls and grab some rebounds.

We need some meat in the middle, we have absolutely none. Maybe we could actually get a 16 seed with him to take up some real estate.

Have no idea how good he is. But this hardly a guy that's never played basketball before. Some legit size down low is needed. I say, try it out. We have nothing to lose. Biggest question for me at this point would be whether he could run the floor.

So with the 4 week Hiatus before the bowl game why not let this guy practice with the B-ball team for 2 weeks??

They way BYU runs and conditions, that would be a big plus for him. But the downside is the risk of blowing a knee or breaking an ankle which seems to happen a lot to our big men.

It can only help. Every team could use more "big" men and we don't really have any that take up a whole lot of space.

We could sure use this guy in the worst way down low........Sharp is undersized and Austin is an OAF most of the time. We need a BRUISER who can muscle up some close baskets and bring some FIGHT to the team.....Kafusi would likely provide that right away

Good point. We got worked in the paint tonight.

We were undersized and muscled around at just about every position. Bt we were active on the boards which is huge.

As I've said before, Josh is not bulky enough for the four, but he was very active. Credit him. But compared to the the freshman Loveridge, no chance.

KaufUsi would bring some great bulk and Braun. Wow do we miss Abouo and Noah.

Not getting Loveridge makes losing Collinsworth and Rogers that much worse - Dude would make our team a ton better and give us another scoring option

I do think that Kaufusi joins the team at the back-up 4-spot in January.

Hopefully he's pushing Austin for playing time by WCC tourney time

Agreed but he had an offer and chose otherwise. Time to move on.

Too bad this guy wasn't ready for the Baylor game tomorrow

So when would this guy possibly join the team?

Just saw some tweets about Kafusi at practice. Looks like he's on the squad!
