I have been saying since day 1 that what bronco says in the media and what happens behind closed doors are 2 different things. Bronco commenting on Riley's leash in the media means that his frustration level for it is higher than fans supposed. Which means that thier trust in Lark has to be worse than fans immaginations can make it as well since they continue to play a guy who has a knack for gift wrapping td's to the other team.

Which is funny, because Bronco has praised Lark to the media, and Lark has looked much better is short bursts this season on the field than Nelson has.

It's just too bad that it took a shortened leash to convince a guy that playing a turnover-prone style may not be the most conducive to winning the most football games.

And if you need more proof, check out what Wrubell is tweeting right now!!
I'd bet money that Holmoe sat down with Bronco this week and set a pretty clear expectation. Why else would Bronco spend what he said was "overtime" this past week prepping for GT?? Wwwhhhaaaatttt???? Against the Offensive you scheme you understand best?? Something doesn't jive.
Holmoe laid down the law this week and said get over Riley, he sucks, "and he would tell you that himself."

Again, Bronco waits WAY too long before he puts his foot down and makes it clear. i was really hoping he would have done this before the season started. that is what riley needed to learn more than anything.
it was clear he was our best qb given we put all our eggs in his basket. we needed him to stay healthy. instead of playing smart he injured himself in game two. he also refused to let plays die which lead to costly turnovers and therefore games.
it is painfully obvious that with better coaches we would have had a wonderful season. as bad as riley is if bronco had done this earlier it could have changed the season.
i also love how frdbtr comes to the conclusion that bronco saying this somehow is evidence that lark is not good. that is pure gold right there.

Have you been sniffing glue with Bib at preschool today? Read the tweets. How much do you have to guess about after hearing the TH interview? How often does TH make comments during the season about players or the coaches? Yes, its a speculation. I would think that would be pretty obvious.

How do you know that behind closed doors, they haven't been telling Riley to stop turning the ball over? I never said that Lark isn't good, I said that for some reason even with Riley's struggles this year, the coaches don't have enough confidence in him to put Lark in. In fact instead of putting him into the utah game, the demoted him to 3rd string the next weekend behind a freshman QB that just got of a mish a few months before. I don't know what is going on, I am just drawing conclusions from what I am seeing, just like all of the rest of you who are calling my conclusions ridiculous.

Yes, I do think they told Riley to stop turning the ball over and to throw it away if the play was dead rather than get reckless. And I think they told him to do that or we will yank you. Oh many times have we seen Riley throw the ball away this year, or ever for that matter. He many times did he do it vs GT? That's like a 300% improvement. You think Riley was going to go back on his "I'm not changing the way I play" attitude? NO WAY!

Frdbtr, since you are the king of interpreting coach speak and double speak, why don't You render an interpretation. TH isn't going to throw BM under the bus completely, but rest assured he is sending a MSG to the donors, afew of which he has certainly heard from, that the two "visit often." And that he, TH has exercised his influence. But how often do you hear a AD criticize a player openly, notwithstanding his positive spins on it?
