Doman has to be licking his chops for next year.

I finally watched the GT game on my DVR.

Williams is special. THill plus WIlliams next year has to have Doman seeing sugar plums dance in his head this holiday season.

BYU finally has its next Unga--that is, if Bronco doesn't regress....again....and play the older, less talented players next year.

THill + Williams = or > Doman + Staley. And if HOff stays and Apo ever emerges, and a TE, and get the Oline fired and nasty early season, and this could be an improved offense next year.

If Jdub stays healthy, by the time he leaves, we will have all forgotten about unga, brown, staley and others.

Is Jdub a nickname someone else has given or is that your special pet name for Wlliams?

It most likely will be an improved offense next year - not necessarily improved QB play - ignoring U and BSU where Riley played injured. Counting those - probably improved QB play. Definitely better RB, hopefully better Center, OL, FB, and TE. Those almost have to be better - same guys - more experienced - in almost every case would be worst case. Nelson, Falslev, Brown, and Hansen will be the only graduation losses. If Hoff leaves early - ouch. If Apo transfers as some suggest - he has rarely been a factor and someone else will fill that gap.



But - the schedule and the fact that the defense loses so many players will mask the offensive improvement. We should be able to get the field goal kicking problems improved.

..."Not necessarily improved qb play..." What a joke. How about I call up Bronco and ask him to allow you to go out there to help award Riley's Blanket.

One good game and you have already forgotten vs Utah (or course I would get that with your U roots) and BSU?? Ya, lets just expunge that from Riley's legacy. His poor performance Should in no way be held against him. That would be totally unfair. :roll:

Williams reminds me of Staley, who had a real nose for the endzone.

Jdub is my nickname for him. He calls himself something else but I can't think what it is. They were talking about it on the post game show the other day.



As far as forgetting about the other greats, that is just a figure of speech but my point was that Jdub will shatter all our running records. He sees the field really well right now as a freshman but still has open lanes to cut into in the GT game that he didn't take. Which means that he can still improve. He is as fast as Staley and doesn't seem to have the injury issues that he had. With Taysom hill as a running threat as well will just open things up more for running backs especially if his throw game improves to what it should be. Our offense could be extremely explosive next year, but we also need to temper expecations with the fact that our backfield is going to be very young and is going to make mistakes.

I've only heard that nickname popup in the last few games. Probably playing off the religious element at BYU. So, no, I don't think he went by it in high school

If we get an Oline that can be physcial next year, I expect to see more Power I next year with Williams. He is a back that can do it.



We also i have formation options as well with TE depth letting us use a 1 or 2 TE set, a 2 or 3 WR set, a 1 back or 2 back set.



Seriously, just need Hill to improve his vision and get comfortable in the pocket and the Oline to get better, because we have hte pieces around them to be really good.

Agree with this 100%. I think an off season of work with our recievers and his vision and timing should improve.

Falslev is a Junior.

to me the offensive line needs to be a bigger priority. just get them better and our offense will be good with the play makers we have.

Next years offense has the potential.. My hopes will not go up until Weber is replaced, otherwise I will expect another year of under preforming.



Next year has more cons than pros IMO. We lose a lot of starters on defense and our MVP of the year Riley Stephenson.

IF he gets an off season of work. I have high hopes for Taysom. With any luck we only get better as Doman gains in experiance with play calling and the coaches learn from qb controversy of the last few years.

It makes no sense for Apo to transfer. He has already used his redshirt year. Why would he transfer and lose his junior year of eligibility.



Hill will be very good if he learns to use his scrambling ability to buy time for the receivers to get open instead of tucking the ball and running down field. A scrambling QB is very difficult to contain. A running QB gets injured...

He's also called "Baby J" owing to the fact that he won't be 18 until April.

I agree that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to transfer... That being said he hasn't used his official red shirt year, he received a medical redshirt due to breaking his finger in the opening game vs. Washington and it being bad enough to need surgery... At least that's how I understand it.
