BYU Now in top 25

BYU is now ranked #22 in the Sagarin computer rankings. Notre Dame #2, Oregon State #10. I agree this is not one of the major popularity polls, but nice anyhow.



Where would we be if not for the hit in Riley's back in the Weber State game? Or if Riley had been more honest with himself and the coaches about his back.



My guess is without the injury, or with honesty, we win 2 more, but 3 or 4 more would also be possible, especially if Taysom had not also been injured.



I admit my wrong. I was predicting 5 losses this year with a healthy Riley. I didn't think Utah would be as bad as they are, and thought at Boise would be a loss, along with NDU, Georgia Tech and Oregon State.



Georgia Tech is just flat out weak. They have 3 wins so far this year, and the three teams they beat have between them 1 (one) win versus FBS schools.



Oregon State got lucky against us. Hey - but we beat Utah State last year the same way. What goes around comes around. Funny that the win vs. USU last year and the loss to OSU this year both came on tipped Riley Nelson passes. (and a tipped OSU pass)



The reason I was wrong in predicting 5 losses, is I didn't know our defense would be as good as they are - most of the time.



I admit - we might still lose 5 games this year, but my prediction was 5 losses with a healthy Riley.

Those BSU and Utah losses really sting now. If we were 7-2, we are top 20 right now.

Give me six inches in the one game and six inches in the other and we are 7-2. As for the ND game, Riley missed Hoff so badly I'd have to ask for several feet if not more....

BYU is really good. they are certainly a top 20 team in my book. I would not be afraid to play any team in the country right now. It is a shame that a few bad decisions have been the difference this year.



i see this season as a success. i can't believe i am saying that but i have been proud of our players and the way they have played this year.i have grown to like the coaches less but the players have been awesome.



the two game that mattered to me this year were bsu and utah. we lost both because our coaches can be morons at times. we also lost our bets qb by the grossly negligent actions of our coaches.



despite that i don't feel bitter or angry at this point. independence is also growing on me.



what is going on.

Hey, C'mon fellas, why the negativity? Riley is back on track. All is well. Yea, CougarNation prospereth. It's like those two games never happened. And ND? Ah shucks, "no one is to blame for that pass[to Hoff], really."

One of our quarterbacks made a freshman mistake and didn't see the signal for a "victory" formation in the Utah State game. This unfortunately ended up with an injury. Continuing to blame the coaches for this mistake is unfortunate. Please do your homework before assigning blame.



By the way, do you know who's responsible for the Libya attack? :whistle:

Ya cause rolling his fingers or hands or whatever Doman thumb twiddling thing he was doing that looks like "Run" vs "run the clock out" doesn't smack of any fault.

Further, Bronco and even Doman both admitted some guilt and blame.

Why can't victory formation look like victory in stead of run?? Do that whole body thing with a big Y with your arms up in the air for a victory signal. Stupid is, is stupid does.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think we're a Top 20 team.



Best win on the season USU. You can try to consol yourself and say we're better than BSU or Utah, but the fact of the matter is coaches are part of the team too and their decisions factor into wins/losses.

We could have been a Top 20 team. But we couldn't make the plays (or coaching decisions) that were readily there for the taking.
