Rose trying to chap fans hides? Zylstra a captain?

There's a number of loud fans who are very unhappy with Zylstra's play, and now he's named as a captain? What does that say to fans?

I am sure he practices hard. Don't care if he is a captain as long as he isn't on the floor in crunch time.

It's because he's 'gritty.'

Nope! Every team needs a scapegoat! This year it's going to be Zylstra on the bball team! All our struggles will be his fault.

Says what should be obvious to all..."You (plural) are FANS and I am COACH." Should it say anything more? GO COUGARS!

Brock Zylstra is not the quarterback of the hoops team, though he is a leader and a senior; we are short on really experienced players on this team.



Let's just hope that he does most of his leading from the bench. ;)



Please let this "Riley" Zylstra thread die now. We aren't going to easily replace Noah Hartsock... even though a few years ago some called him garbage. I expect that we'll see Brock plenty until Tyler shows he can handle a ton of minutes and someone steps up at the 2 this year whether it be Winder, Delgado, or Calvert.



I said this last year and I'll say it again, I don't think we're going dancing with this team, but the future is incredibly bright and we're still going to be competitive this season. I think we've been a little spoiled. Anyone yearning for Steve Cleveland?

Isn't the whole concept of team captains more for the team than the fans? What effect do the captains of any of our teams have on me?

Brock faded last year after "promise" showed on the Europe summer trip where he played point. I have full conifdence in Rosé not succumbing to Bronco-mancing disorder. If Brock doesn't produce, Rose will replace.

Brock is what, one of two Seniors on this team. Of course he was made a captain.
