So close and yet so far

We have been so close to wins so many times this season. Amazing. The only game I thought we were handled was the OSU game. Yet with Riley and a Riley led offense we feel so far away from winning. It is not just Riley it is an OLine that is pedestrian at best. And a lack of identity. But it is not just the O. The D has been stellar until getting rolled by OSU and then getting run all over by ND. And yet so close....sports. On the bright side Apo showed he CAN catch a low thrown ball and BYU showed it can handle a second string QB.

Coulda woulda shoulda.



I think that BYU is right where any objective estimates were before the season started. OSU is way better than they should have been.

The point is BYU never ends up on the winning side of these 50/50 games, which is why they're no longer 50/50. When you play every game not to lose the team with killer instinct wins out.

From 2006-2011, BYU won 18 of 22 games decided by a TD or less. They're 1-3 this year and they were 1-3 in 2005 as well. BYU is simply coming back to the norm of those 50/50 games.

We win at notre dame if dulan and manu are in the lineup. nd's large line just wore us down and they were able to run it up the middle with ease. as bad as riley was and is those two guys would have made the difference.
