Bronco again has game management issues.

Another chance at a meaningful victory goes bye bye. Bronco's lack of management regarding TO's is terrible. Another game when we can't stop the clock because he wastes his time outs. And I know it was a difficult 4th down and 13 but at the 34 yard line you've got to roll the dice and go for it!! Although with RN at the helm he would've just missed the open man.



Other thoughts: RN is not a very good D1 QB because he has a weak arm and accuracy issues, Hoffman and Williams are the best players on O, TE play is again bad, LB Sorenson missed some key tackles today, we have no field goal ability, the OL play was again terrible and of course we need a new OC, TE and OL coach.

Clock management has been an issue for 8 years under Bronco.

The first timeout in the 2nd half wasn't needed.



I was fine with Riley calling the second time out. It was 2nd and long at a critical time in the game. What made it a waste was stupid play call after the time out. Instead of going down field we throw it to Hoffman out in the flat and he gets us a half dozen yards back to the original line of scrimmage. Lame play call.

It's hard for me to understand the game management and clock management issues. American football has basically identified all the potential issues, and all the good coaches understand them and live by that "rule" book. So I'm puzzled why Bronco can't seem to get it right.

Considering our kicking game, we should have gone for it on 4th and 6. Our offense had been money that drive, with the exception of the short hop to Falslev under pressure on the previous play. By kicking a 40+ yard field goal, you're pretty much handing them the ball at that point anyway (obviously things would be different if we had different kickers). Why not take the chance to keep the drive alive, put up more points, and run out more clock, instead of gambling on the 5% chance we make that field goal?



I also agree that going for it on 4th and 13 would have been the better decision. With only 1 timeout left, and with Notre Dame's strength being their running game; you should just go for it and see what happens. I'd rather take the odds of converting a 4th and 13 with 7 minutes left over trying to drive the length of the field with no more than 2 or 3 minutes and no timeouts at best (at worst you may not get the ball back at all, or maybe you get it back with 29 seconds left).
