3 stats about Bronco (not counting this season in progress)

Bronco is 4-13 vs teams .700 or higher. 2-13 if you take away the 2 D-II teams.



Bronco is 23-20 vs teams over .500. 20-20 if you take away the 3 D-II teams.



Bronco is 44-4 vs teams .500 or below.

Bronco is lights out against the bad teams. Very good against the average to good teams (.500-.700) (as his record is apparently 21-7 .750). And poor against the very good teams.



17 of Bronco's 27 losses have been by 10 or more points. That's .629.



But 50 of his 70 wins are also by 10 or more points. That's .714.



Bronco is also 20-9 in games decided by 7 or less (.689).



Bronco has a very good record against any team AS good or worse than BYU (by King's numbers that's 67-24 (.736).

Bronco's teams don't have killer instinct. We sit back in a conservative stance on both O and D, which gets us killed vs. teams that know what they are doing. All it was going to take this year was to finally play a team that had a mature passing game (unlike WSU).

According to Wrubell, we're 4-18 vs ranked teams since 2001. We know Bronco has four wins vs ranked teams, did we not play any ranked teams under Crowton? Because Bronco's 56-21 all time, I'm pretty sure we haven't played 22 ranked teams under him.

I believe wrubell said in the post game, when they were disguising it, that Crowton was 0-6.

Basically, what these stats tell me is BYU is a slightly above average team.

Is Wrubell talking about teams that were ranked at the time we played them or ranked at the end of the year? In my opinion, there is a difference.

From what I can tell, against teams that finished the season ranked in at least one poll, Bronco is 3-14.



And notice our few wins came in years we had a senior QB.
