The Glass is Very Half Full--Enjoy

I know. I know. I have been a big whiner. But I have decided to decommit from the QB/offense's MUBAR and just take what we get. That is, the proverbial glass half empty with unsavory floaties that have to be tolerated.



BUT, this Defense is so fun to watch!!! Its a little bit like watching Jimmer. You know it won't last forever. We knew that without Brandon Davies, a deep run was unrealistic. So we had to just relish every Jimmer moment.



So to with this Football Team. There will be no undefeated season, but this D can be top ten D and one of The best ever at BYU.

This Defense is special. Ziggy and KVN are special players. Tree, hadley, Kaveinga, Danny S and the rest of the backfield are very solid. Our Dlinemen are stout. broncos scheme,prep, discipline, execution are dialed in. The subs are also very solid including Kaufusi, Unga, Bills and others. And teamwork is almost rhythmic and surgical.

This D Can flat out play and they are on the verge, if not already, of reaching that most high level of a synergistic, spontaneous combustion, almost transcendent status.

I'm going to relish every down on D and just be pleasantly surprised if the O accomplishes anything above average, but not surprised at all if we see more of the same.

GO defense! GO Cougs! Congrats that you get to show your stuff on National TV! Way to go Bronco. You do know Defense.

Another way to put this: 50% is still an F, but at least it's a really high F.

This defense is worth watching and it will forever change the way BYU fans view the importance of a strong D.



However, this year has also been a stark reminder that the offense is about 6 parts QB, 2 parts OC, and 2 parts everyone else on offense. Uhhh....well....something like that.

The season is not over - and injuries could change things.



But so far, this is not one of the best BYU defenses. IMHO - it is SIMPLY THE BEST. It is a blast to watch this team. Hopefully everyone stays healthy.

great post. The d is dominant. I'm almost to the point of wanting the sing the fight song after every 3rd down stop.



Anything the O gives us here on out should cheered greatly as well.



Memo to the O: rely on the D. Don't turn the ball over. Control the clock. Don't be afraid to punt and play field position.

but the offense isn't getting a zero... the offense is getting an "F" (to some - to me it;'s a solid "C") so an A and an F get a C+ (or, in my case, a B+)



It is funny seeing the meltdown from a 4-2 record here, the emergence of a great (if not spectacular) true freshman QB, who will now not only have real game experience this year, but a great lesson learned, and will be ready to go next year.



Me - I'm just laying low and watching all of the lemmings on this board run themselves off the cliff :P

Very possibly. In truth maybe there are two glasses. The D is full to overflowing with greatness. An A to an A+.



The D is a D right now for me. Maybe a glass half full C-, (but that would be head in the sand--we have very real problems with the O starting with BD and scheme and play calling to Oline, Oline coach, lack of fire, and then the qb carousel and running man routine, injuries, Maverick Riley having it his way, and LOW SCORING OUTPUT, etc, etc.) but pretty much Messed up Beyond All Recognition MUBAR. Pretty much a disgusting concoction.
