Arrogance? Ignorance? Indifference? Desperation?

What is it that has gotten BYU to this point?

Will Bronco be too arrogant to learn from the CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER that is a "QB run-first" game?

Is it ignorance? Des he really and truly "not know much about offense?"

Is it Indifference? I certainly hope not.i know he cares, but does he just fantasize that "everybody be as tough as Riley?" And a real football player? We'll find out.

Desperation: we just do not have any offensive weapons or schemes that can be something other than this offense?

I have avoided what others said about hating the day that Riley came to BYU....but I am there. He has brought a few redeeming wins (USU last year and Tulsa) but has brought a style he wasn't willing to change and the love of a coach that mandated Dman go away from a pass attack.

Somebody please help.

I'M JUST TICKED. Will this be Broncos undoing? Domans?

Do you really believe this non-sense

Make a list of all the things Bronco or Anae supposedly made each other and Doman do.

Then make a list of the additional losses to teams BYU was favored to beat that BYU would have endured if Nelson did not come.

Start with UW 2010 and go from there.

Lark should have been tested and developed in 2010. He was not. That is at the heart of our current desperation.

What are you talking about? I am talking a serious Problem with this scheme that is totally dependent on a running qb?

I'm not so sure that Lark does suck. Hill did match better with the RNO--Riley Nelson Offense.

Now , after RN goes down, again, we won't have a choice but to play who may actually be a pass first, run only if escaping pass rush and to save your life.

Arrogance.

Bronco believes with every fiber of his being that the key to offense is execution; just out execute the other team. Or, in other words don't make mistakes. Bronco wanted a Yes man as OC. Someone that would buy into his "execution" philosophy. Doman does.

Scheme, talent, play makers are all secondary.

On paper, 4 yards per each QB option play makes sense. Why not repeat it 10 times in a game, which by the way would be 1/3 of all running plays as Bronco's idea of a balanced offense is 30 running plays and 30 passing plays. Problem is that puts your QB in an exposed situation 10 times in the game. Throw in the designed runs, sneaks, scrambles and sacks and it's any wonder we're not already on our 4th QB of the season. Balance doesn't mean straight down the middle. Balance means your opponent fears both. If you run it 15 times but get 100 yards doing it, your opponent will respect the run.

I'm losing faith in Bronco, fast.

Don't you know we're on an anonymous message board? We're practically omniscient!

I have several times. He's a great man in many respects. But he is showing a stubborn attachment to some "virtues pressed to an extreme which show up as vices."

His adherence to ths offense will continue to get qb''s injured, replacements not well prepared, playbooks limited, and few points scored--all equalling more and more losses. Hw long till this defense starts to whither and give up like last year?

+1. That's an understatement.

While were at it - let's take a vote and decide exactly what it is Bronco and Doman need to turn the BYU offense around:

1. Magic wand

2. Magic Potion

3. Adopt yoga and prayer rugs

4. Combine all the above for best results.

If the defense hasn't given up before now, i don't expect them to do it. Baltimore won a superbowl with a sub par offense and stellar defense. BYU obviously isn't in line for a BCS bowl game but this defense gives us a chance to win every one of our remaining games. I watched OSU and ND and neither of them have offenses any better than the one we just held to 3 points. ND has a very good defense though so our offense will have to play better to win that game.

There's really nothing wrong with an execution based offense. As long as you are executing the right plays perfectly. That's the difference between Anae and Doman. Doman calls different plays than Anae ever did,but they aren't always executed well, and they aren't the right plays for a successful long term strategy.

Anae on the other hand had his play book which was nearly always executed to perfection, but he would occasionally make the wrong, hyper-conservative calls.

It would be interesting to see what an Anae led offense would have done last year and this (in my mind he would have made all the right decisions that I've always advocated so we'd be undefeated this year hovering around the top 15).

OSU struggled to put up 19 points at home today vs WSU. ND played the 114th ranked defense today. I am dead serious when I say that BYU"s defense is going to dominate both of these teams.

I've seen 3-4 games of ND football this year. Their offense is BAD, not as bad as BYU, but still pretty bad.

I went with the ignorance option. It's the closest thing to stupidity/incompetence out of all the options.
C
Cougs_Rule
After the request, I have added INCOMPETENCE.

Also after reading Broncos post game comments, " Weve learned this lesson now....we learned this with Riley (running too much)."

REALLY? If you learned "this lesson with Riley , why the heck were you running T so much?

Again, is this arrogance, ignorance, incompetence, indifference, or desperation? You can pick two options.
