Positives!

You might not know, judging from the threads, that we won last night. The defense played lights out. I'd like this thread to be for pointing out the good last night. The anti-domans posts can still be posted to your heart's content elsewhere. Here's some positives I saw:



The D of course. They played lights out. USU gets only 41 yards rushing? Crazy.

Not one sack was given up

We won the turnover battle

Cody Hoffman had some very amazing catches.

Williams ran very well in replacement of Alisa

The crowd didn't rush the field after we won the game...USU and U of U fans did. :)

Taysom played well, particularly as a freshman.

Over 160 yards rushing (excluding the -16 yards as a result of the fake field goal miscue)

USU had been giving up only 25 percent third down conversions. We were at 45 percent.

Did I mention the Defense? They will keep us in every game.

Sad how quickly this thread got buried, and I was part of that. Apologies.

Did anyone catch his quote after the USU game? Reporter asked him how difficult it was stopping the USU offense.

Amen on Ansah......oh how I wish he had one more year of eligibility. Could you imagine how much better he could be with one more year under Bronco?

6-3 +1 on turnovers. A offensive game plan with a Freshman QB and Freshman RB that worked exactly as designed. The only negatives is our kicking game and better Red zone execution by the Oline and we win by a larger score. Red zone issues are common with rebuilding offenses which is what happened when our upper class QB and RB got injured.

A little clarification, the offensive line gave up several sacks. Fortunately, the quarterback had other ideas.

Another positive:



Furriousmonkey will be releasing a new video!!!!



Can't wait for the defensive highlights. I was surprised Keeton (keaton?) was still walking after the game.



BTW, Keeton is a very good QB. Really impressed with him last night. Smart guy, all credit to our defense.

Another positive. The offense moved the ball well. Had long sustained drives against one of the best defenses they will face this year. The future is very bright with the offense. I feel that Doman is building the offense slowly, maybe a little too slow, but he's in charge not me. He's laying the groundwork upon which he can build a complete pass and run attack. He'll probably implement more plays into the scheme next week and even more after that. He has the luxury of doing this because the defense is amazing and they can pick up some of the slack if the scheme is oversimplified, which at this point is better than too complex which leads to big losses and turnovers.

That drive where USU drove down the field and got the field goal was the drive that Ansah was on the sidelines.



He is becoming an unstoppable force. It's amazing to watch a player that is ALWAYS around the ball. It doesn't matter what side he lines up on, or what side the offense runs the play to, he is ALWAYS there. To me, that is the mark of a player ready for the next level

The D might be #1 scoring D after today.

BYU had 13 drives. That's a lot of plays. Four of those drives went for nine or more plays, and three more went six or more. We controlled the clock and pace of the game.

BYU is 4-2. USU is 4-2. Utah is not 4-2.
