- Hill's 144.34 PER in the 1st half was BYU's best 1st half PER since the 172.45 BYU put up in the 1st half of the season opener.
- BYU has now met the 135 PER standard just once this season.
- Utah St did NOT have an offensive play of longer than 16 yards. It was the first time an opponent failed to have an "explosive" play (20 or more yards) since Wyoming in 2009.
- The Aggies were just 4-14 (28.6%) on 3rd down. No opponent has converted more than 33.3% of their third downs. Our 3rd down D is 26.7%.
- If you take out the Boise St game, our blue zone PER is 248.40 (with 7 TDs and 0 INTs). With the Boise game it is 202.50. It was 455.20 against Utah St.
- Our blue zone passing game is very good. Our rushing game, not so much: 55 carries for 139 yards.
- Our five 3-&-7 or more were the fewest we've faced since the Washington St game.
- Utah St ran 27 1st down plays and then faced 21 2-&-7 or more. BYU ran 37 1st down plays but saw just 13 and 5 2-&-7 or more and 3-&-7 or more, respectively.
- BYU is on pace for 40 sacks. The most since 2007s 31.
- BYU did not give up a sack against Utah St, after giving up 11 in the previous three games.
- When BYU got that turnover to start the 2nd half, there should have been three straight throws into the endzone. I'll take my chances with fade passes to Hoffman and Apo over any running play we have.
- The amount of designed running plays by our QBs is way too high.
- BYU's offense has always been more effective the last three years, when the OC actuall allowed our QB to throw the ball down field.
- Combined, BYU and their opponents are just of two their last eight FG attempts.
- Utah St did not get a first down by penalty, the first time an opponent failed to do so since Texas last year.
