I'm in, Sno. Put Doman on notice.

I've been reserving my judgement until we played a good team under Hill, and Doman had a quarterback outside of a wheelchair to work with.



That was really bad playcalling top to bottom.



Let me ask you guys:



If it is 1st and 18 at your 5 yard line, would you run:



A) A screen play, because Anderson is going to be coming hot and heavy after a freshman quarterback.



B) A pro style run up the middle to gain at least 4 or 5 yards, and set up at least a "manageable" 2nd and 13 or better.



C) Run a sweep to the left with David Foote at running back



or



D) Run a playaction fake - in your endzone - on the 3, essentially putting an extreme amount of stress and pressure on your freshman to make a play in the endzone, or else it will result in a safety.







If you picked C or D, you might be Brandon Doman. And your schedule might be opening up soon.

Round two:



If you have already had a field goal blocked, and missed a PAT, would you:



A) Run a fake field goal, putting the ball in the hands of JD falslev - one of our worst decision makers on the team "in the moment."

Did anyone in the entire nation NOT see that fake coming? That was one of the worst play calls I have seen, and shifted the momentum of the game.

Bronco called the fake. he is the one that makes the decisions on 4th down. Not sure who designed the play but Bronco decides to go or kick the FG on 4th down.

Bronco decides to do it, Doman runs the play. That is how those things work. I wonder if they actually called a fake though. I'll have to see it again. JD and Sorensen were arguing after the play on the sidelines.

Brandon Doman will have an injured Taysom Hill here soon if he doesn't improve his play calling.

Well, after Hill I have lark, and after Lark I have Kuresa... He's fast. I think he'd work in my "hang the qb out to dry" version of the option.

I am so disappointed that we once again didn't score getting the ball on a turnover within the 10. That right there is hotseat kindling material at other universities.

The reason Doman calls so many runs for Taysom is because he is so deadly running the ball and isn't throwing the ball as good as he runs it yet. He played pretty well in the throw game today, much better than last week but still has a long way to go before he runs the passing offense as good as Riley does when healthy.

Kinda tough to score when you go from 1st and goal at the 9 to 1st and goal at the 19 due to a bone headed holding call.

He will, one way or another. Riley isn't healthy, and will never be. He never has been fully healthy. It is an illusion. Either through injury, or poor play Riley will come out before the end of the ND game. Probably much sooner than that.



Anyways, stop bringing up Riley. I'm over him at BYU. I want my starting quarterbacks to have more TDs than INT's, and more wins against .500 teams than losses.

BYU was 45% on 3rd down tonight. USU averages 25% giving up 3rd down conversions. Doman's play calling on 3rd down was fine no matter what his second downs looked like.

I didn't mind Doman tonight. He has to protect his qb more and teach him how to slide.Hill can throw the ball Doman has to let me throw it.He hit a couple of deep passes to Hoffman and looked good overall. The dumb penalties by the o-line killed us when we got down in the red zone. What was up with the guy on the sideline getting involved in the play that has to be the dumbest thing I have seen. Overall we beat a good team at home Doman still has work to do but I thought he showed some improvement.

I agree, I couldn't believe it when we ran play action in the end zone knowing a major blitz is on the way.



It's also long past time to retire that inside sweep. We ran it at least five times for a total of about 5 yards I'm guessing. Do we not have a stats assistant letting Doman know throughout the game what's working and not working?

Here! Here! Except I will semantically split hairs and say the enabling comes from the coaches namely Bronco enabling Riley. Otherwise we would be 5-0. And Doman enabling Bronco's meddling with the offense and the QB--not that Doman can defy Bronco too much without losing his job. And as for enabling, the Doctors are enabling (age old problem at all levels of sports) the coaches to play Riley who would sell his soul for BYU football glory.



Besides all that, YES--Doman should be on notice. But if that's the case, so should Bronco (as much as it pains me to say that about Bronco). Buckin Bronco Ball is here to stay--as long as there is a running qb still standing. Bronco hired a YES man and Bronco is CONSTRAINING the BYU offense into a low producing, ball control, emotionally constipated (just like Bronco--except for his anomylous manic arm swinging after the goalline stand) offense. Wasn't it interesting how productive our offense was in hurry up mode at the end of the first half?

Nothing about the suckiness of this offense was disguised last night. It's worse than terrible.
