- Williams has three catches on three targets this year.
- After 18 catches on his first 21 targets, Hoffman has just 5 catches on his last 15.
- Friel has 3 targets the last two games, after 21 the first three. Similarly, the TEs have five targets the last two games after 31 the first three.
- BYU's blue zone offense is very good (notwithstanding the issues in the Boise game). BYU's blue zone PER is 189.20 in 2012.
- Hawaii's 149 yards of offense, were the 2nd lowest under Bronco. And the 1 of 12 on 3rd down allowed (8.3%) was the best by a BYU defense under Bronco.
- BYU's 7 of 14 on 3rd down, was the first 50% conversion rate since the opener.
- The 35:49 of time of possession was the most since the 2010 bowl game.
- BYU has only met the PER standard once in the last six games.
- I thought Taysom Hill looked more comfortable behind the center than Jake did last year or Riley this year since the opener. One play that really stood out to me was on what was going to be a bubble screen. Taysom went to throw it and saw the corner quickly making a play on the ball. Instead of throwing it out there for a minimal gain, he tucked and gained several more yards.
- HUGE props to me for saying earlier this week that Famika Anae was one of our best OL and he wasn't playing. ;) I was being completely facetious in trying to find an underclassman who wasn't being used as the obvious answer to all our problems. But he did bring an new attitude to the playing field. It's possible that there was a shift in other OL as well, but it was a welcome development.
- BYU is a good team. Good teams make bad teams look bad. Great teams make good teams look bad. BYU could be a great team if the offense can translate Hawaii success to better opponents.
- If I'm Bronco, Riley is never "healthy" again this year.
