BYU - Hawaii Game thread

So, starting this one quarter late...



First off, I'm lucky to have a friend at work who has Comcast, so I can stream the game online at work without the ESPN3 blackout.



Second, Taysom Hill, and Jamaal Williams are going to be special.



Hill is fast. 21 yards on 3rd and 19, blew right past the defense.



Williams 43 yards on 4 carries.

Hill hits Apo for an easy TD! Awesome!

14-0 BYU.



When you think about it, this is the perfect game for Hill to start. We're at home. Hawaii has a bad defense. And our defense will keep everything in control.

The question is, if things continue like this should Lark get reps.

JD needs to stop letting the ball drop behind him on punt returns. How many times has Falslev allowed teams to pin us deep on punts?

Didn't this same thing happen to Nelson in his first start after the USU game last year? And Heaps' first start his freshman year? First game against a bad defense making the new starter look like a star.

While liking what we're seeing from Hill, I think most of us realize Hawaii's defense is bad. And I don't think it's an apples-to-apples comparison when talking about Hill vs Heaps or Nelson.

Alisa broken arm?

146 yards rushing for Hill at the half. 97 for Williams.



Hill: 10-15 passing for 88 yards. Not bad for a first start. 124.61 PER. Not bad, but not great.



Not sure on Alisa. The way he was holding his arm when he came out looked like a possible break of his right forearm.

Hill looks great (yes, it's Hawaii) but him having the most rushing yards is concerning. That shouldn't be. Need more of a passing game!!!!

I think he's been on the sideline the whole game.

D'oh... At least we have some capable backs behind him. I hope this means we see more of Foote.

Bronco says Nelson still the starter what a dippy idea. Hill and Williams having huge nights big things ahead for these two in the NFL likely before their senior years.
