Doman is done, or he should be.



Couldn't do anything with Heaps. Has probably the best overall receiving corps in modern BYU history. Solid backs and TEs and still can't move the ball if is life depended on it.

They should let him go, but they won't.



He offense needs an intervention just like the defense did.

I voted to give him one more year. They MUST fire the OL coach this year. Then if the O still sucks next year, find a new OC. BD's play calling magically started looking a lot better once Hill came in. HIs play calling was pretty good when Riley was healthy. I think the offense has looked terrible because of terrible Oline play and terrible execution by an injured QB. When those variables have been controlled for (with a new QB next year and a new Oline coach), then you have a better idea of whether or not the playcalling is the problem.

I voted one more year, however, that is not absolute. What needs to happen is for the offense to get on the same page as the defense. We have what should be a dominant offense. We have more talented receivers overall than we have ever had. We have talented running backs. We have size on the offensive line. We have 3 quarterbacks that (if healthy) would start at other FBS schools. Something needs to happen. To dominate on defense to the level we have and still lose games is not acceptable. There is no reason we should be struggling to execute 4 games into the season. The time out situation is (or should be) a big warning sign. We are not executing. We are confused. We either need a shakeup on the offensive side of the ball, or we need a change in attitude. Get it right or move on.

I voted one more year (at least). I did so for a couple reasons.



1. Riley Nelson has looked terrible since he took a hit in the Weber State game. I have a bigger problem with the call not to pull him out while he is hurt, than the play call. I'm sure people can always come up with excuses for the offense, but right now the excuse is RN health. It is hard to get anything going with the way he has been playing.



2. There is no depth chart for coaches. If the right guard keeps missing blocks you pull him and go to the next guy on the depth chart. If you fire Doman who do you replace him with? Until you can give me a list of 5 guys who could reasonably replace Doman with, then forget about it. And I'm talking guys with actual coaching experience not just your favorite player from yesteryear.

I voted one more year. But Weber has to go.

Problem with firing BD ( and I'm not yet a big fan) is that how much of retaining RN is about Bronco and not BD? I have to believe that BD has a much larger play book that is already limited based on RNs arm strength and especially now that he is injured. If Bronco is driving the RN loyalty, I have to believe that BD is almost at his wits end.

It was only one realistic drive (that didn't start at the 1 yard line) vs BSU, but the play book did seem to open up with Hill. Hopefully we will get to see this week. Otherwise I could see ony about 5-10 plays this week, with the intent to not hurt RN nor exploit his limited play AND NOT TURN THE BALL OVER, all as a means of utilizing a weak opponent (or will we make Hawaii look great?) to salvage RN's greatly weakened stature and ability. Sort of a "held together with duck tape (pun intended) and bailing wires.

Replace Weber and no RIley and let's see what Doman can do.



Riley is gritty, but not skilled enough. And it is as simple as that. He has benefitted from some luck (See USU game on multiple plays) and from having the D on his side last year.



Fact is, Bronco has to change his culture. best players play, regardless of class. Perform, you keep your job. Struggle and you risl replacement, no matter who you are. Talent has to see the field. HAs to. With our dfense, it is happening more and more, and that is why our D improves. Scheme + talent equals better results. But with our O, we are limited at QB, have an underperforming Oline, and are striggling with an OC who does not know how to best utilize what he is stuck with.



I have never been a Riley fan, but got behind him when his results earned it. But his limitations have always been my issue, and they continue to come out in games vs. good teams. Just as I feared. His lack of arm strength kills us, and his piss poor ball security kills us even more. His turnovers are the reason why we are 2-2, and it is as simple as that.
