Time to go back to 2010 SDSU style offense

Remember what a mess we were on offense that year? How poor we were in big games against decent teams? Was bad.



So what did Bronco do? He told Anae that we were going to play power football. No more mamby pamby cutesy stuff. Time to make Our Oline act tough and end the finesse. And Bronco made those dudes run in the game from the sidelines too. Made them work. Told them to grow a pair and toughen up.



And it worked. We looked better the rest of the year, should have beat Utah playing that way in 2010. Easily won the bowl game. And then 2011 came and we had stopped.



The time for tinkering and cutesiness is over. It is time to go smash mouth, with Hill under center. Let him drop back, take some shots down field, and if needed, make plays with his legs.



Scrap the bastardized mutt offense we are running. Go pro style power like the 49ers, and we will see the benefits. Our defense deserves that kind of help.

Our offense has worked fine with healthy QB's playing. Other than cleaning up the turnovers and getting better blocking from the Oline, I don't think wholesale changes would work. Also you are asking our Oline to start power blocking when they haven't been able to block anyone this year.

I fear we lack the the OL to do that.

If we run the ball 100% of the time against bsu, we win.

Isn't that when the rumors started that Doman was gameplanning and actually starting to make some in-game play calls?

When the blocking improved - the entire offense will be lifted - remember tide, boats, and oats. I hope experience resolves this. Eventually easier opponents will help too.



But our OL last year let Idaho State or someone injure Nelson and this year - Weber State. And everyone had been able to mount a pass rush and slow down, if not stop the run.



Hill will be more durable - but even he will need protection to be effective and maybe to survive - see missed block on 2-point conversion.



Nelson's injury and resulting terrible play - somehow seems to have taken the spotlight off the elephant in the room. Our OL seems like boys among men.

I remember that. Everyone was convinced that Anae had turned over play calling to Doman. Well, at least now we know what actual Doman game plans look like. :~(

Historians like Sno can sure bring sanity to an insane discussion - by reminding of previous nonsense uttered in the depths of despair.



Hopefully we can agree - at least in this case - that THIS is an acceptable use of one of the varied meanings and uses of the term.

I would just like to see an offense of any kind at this point. Except for a handful of games the past 3 years(most against bad teams), our offense has been pretty ugly. Even many of our higher scoring games haven't been the most exciting offenses to watch.
