Dire Predictions

Is it just me, or are all the dire predictions people predicted prior to the season coming true?



BYU 2-2 four games into the season.



Riley Nelson not only injured but attempting to play through and injury at the detriment of the team.



A stellar Defense, but a completely toothless offense that is no where near where it should be.



An OL that really hasn't shown any improvement.



For once, it would be nice if all the optimistic predictions came true...

2006 + 2007 pretty much went the way of the optimists.

I am one of those dire predictioniers (Not a word, I know, but it works).



I didn't believe our O would look as bad as it has. It is worse than I thought possible.



You have no idea how badly I wish I was wrong on my predictions.

It has been a dire predictors dream come true (though of course we know they WISH they won't be right).



The season's still young and we still have some time to right the ship, so to speak. But things must improve.

I appreciate this post so I don't have to say "I told you so."



And, no this isn't a "dire predictor's dream come true." I'm just as sour as everyone else. Maybe more because at least I saw it coming but still got sucked into believing we may have a special year. And here's how I see the rest of the season going:



We will appear to turn the train wreck around against the weaker teams-thanks to Indy there's a lot of them this year and finish 9-4, with a bowl win vs. an AFA type MWC team. Maybe a rematch vs. BSU. BTW, a win @ ND is 100% impossible, and @ GT probably 90% impossible. Maybe we luck out into the #25 spot in the rankings.



This will be great for this year, but would, IMO, be bad for the long term and Bronco would once again rest on his "accomplishments" in the season. He'll talk about how we've won at least 9 games for X out of the last X years, won another bowl and finished ranked. As if this were some great accomplishment. The end result is that little changes.

I think many of us saw that this COULD happen when RIley took over for Heaps last year. Writing was on teh wall that Heaps would leave and we would be stuck with an injury prone and limited QB, and a massive experience gap behind him.



Fact is, BYU has now botched the QBs mutliple times. Larks mission delay, the Riley/Heaps issue and now the Riley/Hill one.



COaches have to take some blame on this. Mission complicate things, but they had to plan better and handle personnel better.

Glad you saw right through that cause I am really tired of spending the past 23 years, thousands of dollars and countless hours watching BYU football, traveling to games, putting on the act of total depression for days, sometimes weeks, after a loss just so I could come on here and put in my dire predictions.

I worded my post very poorly, so I can understand how a quick read would misunderstand. No worries.
