despite paying 9% sales tax in general and then paying 9% on full retail price of new cell phones and not simply the subsidized price I pay to the cell phone companies
despite a state going out of business that is billions of dollars in the hole
despite a public education system that's collapsing
despite grocery stores being forced to charge 10cents per grocery bag(most just dropped bags altogether) to push people to BYOB
despite the traffic
and despite the fact that I do sometimes miss rainy days during the bay area's never-ending stream of perfectly sunny days and temperate weather
yes, despite all that.
i DID get to see and hold an iPhone 5 yesterday a week before they're released last night. Thanks to my new Apple engineer friend who probably has had that secret burning in his pocket without being able to share it for considerably longer than a week before the release!
