Can we stop calling Riley a dual threat QB?!

Let's just admit he is a zero threat QB. No arm strength and no accuracy. No speed, likes to lead with his head and poor decision making (kept the ball 3 or 4 times on options and got hammered when the pitch would have likely produced real yardage).



The only thing Riley has is heart, and last I heard, having only heart makes for a great story like Rudy, but is not great for what is supposed to be the #1 play maker on the field.



I have never been a fan of Riley and definitely didn't like Heaps. I have no idea how we have found ourselves in this situation over the past 3 years. No offense and no QB at BYU for three years is deplorable and should get someone fired. One year for rebuilding, or for unexpected injury or for a new OC is understandable. Three straight years of no O should not be tolerated, especially at BYU, what used to be QB U.



I have to wonder after Stanford beat USC last night if Hill is rethinking his decision? How much longer will Apo stay around after getting 1 or 2 throws per game. How about Williams? Time to make our future now so that we have a chance at a decent season next year, the hardest schedule BYU will ever have!

Yes he did, AFTER he threw a horrible pass resulting in an interception. Still think he is a no threat. At least Hill has speed to run regardless of his arm.

Man, you've just posted every single thing that I have been thinking and frustrated with. There's something wrong when APO doesn't even get thrown to after he was catching a TD a game before the QB switch. Did anyone else notice how open he was down the field on that last lame duck throwing play? Another thing about Apo is he can run after the catch. Don't get me wrong, Hoffman is great but doesn't get to far after he catches the ball. I sure hope he doesn't decide to transfer before Hill can actually throw him the ball.



How we got into this situation in the first place is giving into the hype of Heaps. Didn't allow us to really explore our QB options. For as big of a recruit out of HS Lark was I don't understand why he's never been an option. He looked way better than riley against Weber.

Um, I beg to differ. Riley is a triple threat. He has fast wheels on an undersized body--that's probably injured; he has a ton of heart and that is without doubt or sarcasm to be praised; and an ego complex that mAkes him think he can Run better and care better than anyone else until he runs out of gas--which he did and should have tapped out.

His threat to Byu is he puts his no quit complex in front of winning. He gave his all but it wasn't enough. Hos running can't compensate for a whole game for a poor Oline and an average arm.



And if you need some year old theories about why Lark isnt playing or subbed in when Riley was clearly struggling, I can refer you to several.

What's your story going to be when we beat Boise State on Thursday? I do agree that at least one change needs to be made: Replace coach weber.
