I told you so

Last week while watching utah state beat up the utes, I came on this board and told everyone not to expect the same utah team tonight. I was right. Everyone here wants to fire webber, wants to fire Doman, wants to demote Bronco but the bottom line is, utah lost to utah state because they overlooked them and beat us because they always prepare to win 1 game a year and that 1 game is BYU. If Bronco has a failing it is that he doesn't (seemingly) understand that kwhit prepares for this game through the entire off season, utah players have admitted that they ran a different defense last year than any BYU had seen and I am sure they did it again tonight. To BYU's and riley's credit, they fought hard to overcome early mistakes and made a game out of it. I also kept saying that utah will be our hardest game to win all year. I wouldn't be surprised to see BYU run the table from here on out. It also wouldn't surprise me to see us lose to Boise state in a hangover game.

I think our players do think it is a big deal. I think they came out motivated to play really hard, just not focused. I don't know the answer, I think Bronco has the right idea to not make it bigger than it is or it would cause even worse execution in the first part of the game until our guys settle down. Maybe they need a sports psycologist or something.

They need to teach Alisa football 101. Bad snap...fall on the football but don't try to scoop it up dummy!!

This is one of those games that you can say that 1 play truly was the difference in the game.

We had 4 plays that if we executed better we win. The 60 yard punt return, high snap on one fg and a doink on the other and then of course the fumbled snap that cost us a fumble return for td. 4 plays decided the game.



Folks, Riley didn't dominate like Ty detmer tonight but he managed a good game and made plays when it mattered. We didn't make 1 more play in order to send it into overtime. I don't think the D is mad at the O. utah has a good D too and a good team, a motivated team after overlooking usu and losing a game they should have won. I am not happy with the loss, but I am proud of the way the team fought to the last whistle to try to claw out a win.

Absolutely. Without that ridiculous "we sold our souls to the devil AGAIN" fumble/TD, BYU wins this game going away.
