Our Defense

Is awesome, but they have got to be pissed at our offense. Our D has played plenty well enough for us to beat the Utes the last few games, but the offense seems intent on pissing the ball away with turnovers and gifting points to the other team while our defense is on the bench.



If I were a defensive player right now, there would not be a lot of team harmony and unity in the locker room right now.

I saw Sampson jogging! I hope Bronco sits his lazy arse for that or has him doing some serious sprints. It was pathetically apparent on that one long punt return

Overall the D played great, but they contributed to the loss too.



Sorensen's penalty directly set up a FG.

Getting burned deep for a TD.

the horrendous tackling late in the game that flipped the field position in the 4th quarter.



The D has the least amount of blood on their hands, but they still helped out with the overall result.

They held the yewts to 17 offensive points - 7 of which came on a very short field and the result of an incredible catch.



My biggest complaint about the D in that game is that they failed to generate a single TO.

This. D is our best unit by far and are also far from perfect. Pressure on the QB was sporadic and not until after a little delay causes by the OL. They get to the QB eventually and if coverage is there - all is well.



Coverage is decent most of the time - but not lock-down tight.



The defense had a chance to stop a Ute team deep in their territory when it was needed - or had all game long to create a turnover.



U defense looked better than Y defense, overall. Both are very good. Nobody was terrible or simply terrible.



Special teams also gave up another huge return. Killer.

We generated two fumbles, they were miscalled as incomplete pass and player down.
