So, Is it 4 or 5 losses this year?

I've been saying all along (even after the last 2 weeks) that BYU will lose the big 4 road games...now I'm worried that USU will get us too. USU is better than Utah.



I know Heaps was not the answer, but Nelson isn't either. Is it Lark? Is it Hill? Is it anyone on the roster?



The OL sucks beyond belief. How Weber keeps his job year after year is beyond me.



Clock management with this coaching staff is a joke. Has been for years. There is never any sense of urgency with this team. Never any fire.



The talent gap isn't as wide as I thought it was (still, they are more talented), but it's the mental edge that they bring. It's really disgusting how mentally weak BYU is.

Three, it's three losses this year.

Call me crazy but I'm still predicting 10-3.

That depends... how many teams will end up with a winning record on our schedule? That is your benchmark right there.

It's 1 loss. That is all that is certain. At the same time it is 2 wins. That is all that is certain. Every year, BYU seems to improve and toughen as the year proceeds. When/if that occurs will determine the final record.

Well, that partly depends on us beating them, doesn't it? Some teams will be 6-6 if we beat them and 7-5 if we don't.

The offense sucks. 3 losses at least.

I say 5. Utah, Boise State, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, and one of Utah State or Oregon State. I really hope the team can prove me wrong.

USU will not beat us. They had a crowd will them to victory vs. Utah, just as the U had a crowd help them beat BYU. BYU has the crowd edge vs, USU, and will ride it. NEver underestimate the edge a solid home field can bring in close games.





I really like our chances THursday night. We are going to shut down that BSU run game, and I expect them to be in full gimmick mode just so they can move the ball. THeir pass game is hurting this year.



I still think we beat BSU and GT, but really not confident vs. ND.

I am more nervous about usu than I am about gt and about the same as bsu. Usu barely lost to Wisconsin at Wisconsin, beat the u, barely lost to auburn last year, and most of all, have the best qb and arguably best head coach in the state. I don't trust Riley or bronco against equal or better competition at their positions.

Wisonsin lost at Oregon State, a team we throttled last year. Wisconsin has struggled to score points so badly with their new OC that they fired coaches after game 2. Do not use them as a baraometer. They have issues.



USU is much improved. But we got them last year when we were a mess. This year, less of a mess, and they do not have the same elite talent at RB, LB.



USU hung 27 on the U, but 20 is reg. They had similar yardage in reg, and gave up more yards than we did, especially on the ground, all in reg. And doing so at home in front af a rabid crowd. They will have no such advanatge in Provo. Yes, they are improved, but no, they will not beat us in Provo.



Road games are always tougher than home games. Always.

Against good teams on the road...I don't see us winning. Offense is too weak.

SJSU?????? Say it ain't so. I don't believe it. The eternal optimist in me still sees 10+ wins this season. I say we lose to ND and win our bowl game ending at 11-2 on the year.

SJSU took Stanford to the wire, a team that just knocked off USC. Don't underestimate SJSU.



Again, we'll be on the road playing against a highly motivated team. That game is no gimmie.



I admit, I'm down on the team. But since Bronco is a fan of stats, I'll throw some out:

Our best wins in the last two years are against USU and Tulsa, and they took near-miracle plays. :~(

Against good teams on the road, the odds of a BYU win are slim. That's a fool's bet. BYU loses against BSU, GT, ND and SJSU. Hope I'm wrong, but won't be surprised.

Funny thing, before the byu game, everything pointed to a byu win, and the odds makers agreed. But i just had that feeling that byu would find a way to lose. I had the thought that if I were a betting man, I should put some major money down on the u winning. Maybe we should out some money on sjsu! Jk but not really.

BYU teams can overcome a loss to their rival and still go on to have a great season. Case in point:

It's hard to use the USC-Stanford game as a barometer for either team, that's essentially their BYU-Utah (where the better team plays their worst game of the year and the worser ;-) team plays their best game and capitalizes on everything).
