Watching the MTN in HD

Well, I've got the MTN in HD. We'll see how it works.

It looks pretty good, as far as the picture... I wish the cougars were looking better.

I am loving it. We just got Directv for the Mtn and the HD is brand new.

It definitely helps out a lot, it has felt like a much better screen than usual.

The HD is good, but the freakin' microphones suck and it's funny how they keep going to commercial according to the announcers, and then they just keep showing Hooks down for about 35 seconds

I have KSL on for the audio, it's not a perfect sync, because the HD signal is about 2 seconds behind, but it's well worth it.

That's why you need DVR my friend... pause it for 2 secs and it syncs right up.

For real. Some people are never going to be happy.

I hope all the games are in HD next year. The screen improvements were astounding.

i'm sure a lot depends on revenue. on my list: put the camera somewhere in the west stands at LES where upraised hands don't block the view.



I think the Mtn has shown steady progress over the past few years, and as it expands it will continue to improve. I for one am grateful for Cable TV and Slingbox for delivering BYU football to my home in Kansas. The quality for me isn't HD (internet streaming on Slingbox), but it's BYU football!

They need better talent on the sidelines and in the box if they want to be taken seriously. If you can't tell the difference between JJ and Tonga, if you can't take two minutes to do some homework and make sure you can pronounce players names, if you're an obvious homer for a certain team, you probably shouldn't be announcing the game. They need to get professionals who have experience and know about the game, not just a bunch of washed up ex-MWC guys.

I've heard that this HD stuff for the mountain is going to be spotty. They are only going to cover games here and there and I don't think they are going to cover much basketball in HD either. I just bought an LCD TV and the BYU basketball game vs Bradley last night through DirecTV last night was horrible. Anybody know how to adjust the picture or have ANY tips for a widescreen LCD TV to make the non-HD channels a little more bearable??

I actually remember watching that broadcast at the chapel in Mississippi because the Church satellite system carried it. There were literally minutes of complete silence.



Actually, that may be an improvement over the Todd.
